Bédoin and our house are located at the foot of Mont Ventoux, the Géant de Provence. Never cycled up to 1,907 metres? Then it's time!
The 100 m² house with 1,000 m² of fenced land, which is for your exclusive use, is within walking distance of the village (which has around 3,000 inhabitants). In 5 minutes you can enjoy a pastis on the large central square and still have peace and quiet. The village has several restaurants and bars, a bakery and a decent Carrefour grocery store. Carpentras, the district capital (with a huge E. Leclerq), is 15 minutes away, and Avignon is 30 minutes away.
There are 2 parking spaces on the property. The pool is heated during the transition period and is approximately 9x4m in size. You will need to take care of it during your stay; instructions are provided.
The house has three large terraces and sunbathing areas around the pool; parasols and sun loungers are provided. Next to the house is a ‘cellier’, a kind of garage where you will find a Weber gas barbecue, pool toys and garden utensils. It is also a good place to store suitcases or bicycles.
The living room, dining room and kitchen are combined and measure approximately 50 square metres. The kitchen has a refrigerator, electric stove, oven and dishwasher. For coffee lovers, there is a Nespresso machine. The kitchen is fully equipped. The living room has a very large table with 6 chairs, a seating area and a desk. The TV has satellite channels and an Apple stick. The WiFi connection is good. The fireplace (and a fire pit in the garden) cannot be used in summer due to the risk of fire. If it gets too cold, electric radiators are available.
The three bedrooms each have spacious wardrobes. The front bedroom has a 1.80 x 2 m double bed, the rear left bedroom also has a bed of this size and the rear right bedroom has a 1.40 x 2 m bed.
The bathroom is not large but adequate: washbasin, shower, toilet and a washing machine. There is also a second toilet. Laundry dries extremely quickly in summer. A clothes horse, pegs, iron and ironing board are provided.
You don't need to bring anything to read: there are loads of guidebooks and books in German, English and French.
Excursions: the Papal Palace in Avignon? The flea market in Villeneuve on Saturdays followed by oysters? The Provençal market in Bédoin every Monday or the large market in Carpentras on Fridays? There are around 50 wineries in the immediate vicinity, or you can visit the Sorgue (crystal clear, cold water) or its source in Fontaine de Vaucluse. Marseille is about 80 minutes away, the Camargue about 90 minutes – Bédoin is therefore a great starting point for excursions.
We recommend occupancy for no more than 4 people. Dogs are welcome. Please be careful with small children: the pool is not fenced off!
