Lakefront Cottage on Soft Sand

  • Located in the middle of Sand Bay, 5 miles from down town, 3 miles from the golf course and steps from150 feet of sandy private beach. There is enough room for two families or more in this 1400 square foot cabin with 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The large cabin easily sleeps nine, with the addition of two cots for extra sleeping. You can enjoy preparing for your days adventure as you fashion meals in our newly renovated eat in kitchen with dishwasher and garbage disposal. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, toaster, Instant Pot and blender. The evening can be spent enjoying time in the screened in porch, on the outdoor deck or in the living room where you can enjoy a fireplace, Bluetooth TV, DVD/VCR, WIFI and lots of books and board games. For those that like to cook outdoors, we have a charcoal grill. A new washer and dryer is available to keep your clothes clean. We ask that guest bring their own bedsheets, pillow cases and towels. Comforters, blankets and pillows are provided. Linen Service is available for additional charge.

Another amazing week!

Such a great week at Bunka! Four bedrooms - comfy beds - great open kitchen area. The deck and beach area are amazing - large deck with nice table and relaxing chairs, a big Sandy beach. The water was pretty warm too! Loved using the paddle boards. Overall a great stay.

Great location! Never felt like we wanted to leave the beach and the view. Sunrises and starry skies. If you actually need a place for eleven people, the one small bath could be a minor inconvenience.

Calm and Peaceful Getaway

Our stay was lovely! Waking up and walking out with a cup of coffee just steps away from amazing Lake Michigan took our breath away each day. Sand Bay is beautiful and we loved being able to walk our puppy on the sand and wade out into the crystal clear water. The home has everything you need and more. We wanted a peaceful and quiet place to getaway from the hustle and this stay was just what we needed!

Great base location for island stay and easy to explore from. Cottage is a mix of old, rustic charm and modern conveniences (dishwasher, instapot, ninja blender, wifi, smart TV, comfortable bed). Plenty of outdoor entertainment and seating for the deck, beach and bonfire. Owner communications (check in, instructions for stay and departure) were thorough.

Cozy, clean, incredible!

We stayed at the cabin with our 9 year old son for 4 days. We all absolutely loved it! It was very clean, cozy, and had everything we needed to include a smart TV, charcoal grill, and great kitchen amenities. The cottage was, in our opinion, on the best stretch of beach on the island. The host responded to our questions very well and made the check in and check out process a breeze. Will stay here again!

Great location and a nice house

Everything was better than expected. There's plenty of room, the view is awesome and we had a good time. The only negative is that there's no closets in the bedrooms. It's still a great place and not a deal breaker, I'd stay here again for sure.

A Terrific Week!

My family loved staying at this wonderful house - it is on a beautiful stretch of beach with a sandy bottom under the water that was shallow enough for the kids to really enjoy. The house had plenty of space and bedrooms for us all, lots of tables for eating and playing games and a well equipped kitchen. Owner was incredibly responsive. Would return again!

Gorgeous views

We love this place! We came with our four children and Grandma and never felt crowded. The house was cozy and the views were amazing. John was so helpful in preparing to come to the island and answered all our questions quickly. We explored some of the island and other beaches but honestly the beach in front of the house was the best! We spent all day on it; grilled out, ate all our meals outside, had a campfire and stayed up late to stargaze.
