There is few pints need to highlight. When I check in the air con not cold , no coffee and tea, moreover main door cannot lock means once u go out it will auto shut but it still open , I am quite disappointed the service but they changed for me the room is ok , In future please check the necessary in the room before the guest check in , Thank & regards Ravindran

Still using the old Evitel branded towels/toiletries/etc. Which are horribly old and stained. More than one room in our group had to request for new towels/floor mats/ pillowcases. My first towel was stained. Had an obvious handprint on it. My second towel was worse. They gave me one smelly so strongly of pee (cat? rat?) we recoiled. Had to go out and buy towels. Both to shower with and to cover the pillowcase. First time I, personally, have ever done that. Ask for an extra pillow, told there's a charge. Ask for extra towels, told there's a charge. Ask for handtowels, told they don't have any. But if they did, I'm sure there would have been a charge. Location in general is great. Location specifically is quite a headache. Situated at the corner of a major junction, you can hear everything at all hours. So loud that you can smell the colour of every bike and see the rumble of every truck that passes by. All this being said, the staff we encountered were very pleasant and friendly. Such a shame the hotel itself was so disappointing. Overall, a hard pass

Standards dropped after hotel rating rised online

I always check in to The Evitel each time I visit the Batam.(I have visited that place ever since they first started out their business) My recent visit (2Jan 2020 to 5 Jan 2020) was not a pleasant one though. Laundry service standard sucks big time and also, instead of going down for free breakfast buffet (which is horrible!!!!), I tried ordering from their Ala-Carte Room service breakfast (Nasi Lemak). Their restaurant staff however stated that only the items (leftovers from breakfast buffet going on downstairs) is available for room service breakfast! I was shocked!!!! Then why the hell should I even bother ordering from the room service Ala-carte menu????

Location is walking distance from the famous D’steam Peranakan Live Seafood and Nagoya Hill Mall. The hotel is not as pictured. No swimming pool and room is small. We were given 1st floor room which can hear ppl from the lobby/cafeteria and view is another ppl house. Okay for short stay.

Very noisy on level 3. Throughout the night, loud engines of motorbikes could be heard. Being a light sleeper, I couldn’t sleep well at all. The buffet breakfast was truly disappointing. A lot of food had finished and not replenished when it was merely 9am (breakfast ends at 10am). Seemed like there was a shortage of food. Extremely limited choices too.

Already selected twin bed and ask for connecting room during our booking months ago, but they did not deliver what we booked. Toilet smelly and water stuck when shower. Toilette was used not new set. EVITEL is where it's at!

...specifically picked this hotel because it had a rooftop lounge...service, rooms and its facilities were well above average...and I would like to point out to those who have been commenting on the soundproofing of the rooms = "avoid this hotel if you do not want to hear music being played throughout the night -AND- the hotel is practically located at a road junction; ergo noise from the traffic outside is normal...overall, for those who look forward to a memorable few nights' trip; this hotel is definitely "moneys' worth" (,")

I like the proximity of the hotel to Nagoya Hill shopping mall however, the soundproofing could be better, this trip we stayed at level 5 but could hear the traffic, our room was also opposite the staff's rest/ pantry area and we could near the staff talking early morning. Also our room was missing towels and the floor mat for the bathroom. Had to keep the toilet bowl closed cos there is a strong sewage smell.

Beware

Where do I even start. First off, the rooms are not sound proof as stated in the bio. The hotel is located on a very very busy corner. You will hear endless motorcycles throughout the entire night into the morning. There's a loud speaker from the nearby mosque and the prayer to call will come on at 5am and you can't drown it out. There's mold in the sink and showers, it's like they're not even trying. The towels are old and in need of bleach. I have nothing but regrets from staying here. It's not worthy of a 3 star or even 2 star hotel. Avoid and look elsewhere.

Location of the hotel is slightly far (10-15 min walk) from Nagoya and crossing the big road was rather challenging. But it was quite near the Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal and BCS mall (5-10 min drive). Hotel reception staff was very polite and smiley and promptly attended to our needs when we were there. The vegetarian breakfast and dinner buffet spread were not bad and very value for money. Eggs are available for breakfast but only upon request. Read reviews on the volume of the music from the rooftop bar and was suprised that the music could be heard even from the 3rd level lift lobby. Request for Level 1 or 2 rooms for a quieter room. Room was value for money and decent for a short stay. However, the double bed was actually 2 single mattresses joined together with 2 single bedsheets (not 1 bedsheet) which was rather uncomfortable as the 2 bedsheets kept running, exposing the mattress underneath in the midst of our sleep. Hairdryer is not placed in the room by default and is only available upon request. Complimentary 2 bottles of mineral water given daily. As for the bathroom, the sewage smell in the toilet was quite unbearable and the showerhead is not detachable, making it difficult to control the water direction. Other than that, the water pressure & temperature, and size of the bathroom is good. Overall, would recommend Evitel for a short stay if you are looking to explore the Nagoya area and looking for a decent hotel which serves vegetarian food.

The stay is ok. Room was ok. Quite modern but basic. Near Nagoya Mall, only around 10 minutes walk. Not much to do in the evening. Breakfast was pretty nice, should try their "Mie Ayam", it's really nice!

Cosy comfy hotel

An average hotel but definitely no complains given the price paid. There's no sound proofing to the rooms so you can hear noise from the corridor and the bar at night. Very nearby to Nagoya mall. There's a minimart in the back alley as well. Breakfast doesn't have alot of variety but the eggs and toast and cereals are good enough. Would be perfect if they have some ham or sausages too. Rooftop bar has nice ambience but cocktails was horrible. Service of the staffs were great though.

Great hotel in a good location!

It was a solo trip meant for a relaxing, refreshing getaway. Great experience throughout. Staffs were friendly. The area were within walking distances of popular massage parlours and the ever popular Nagoya Mall. Wifi in the room is fast. The room comes with a mini fridge in this you were wondering if there is since it is not stated. Breakfast are similar everyday. But for the price paid, this is definitely value for money! I would come back again!

They gave us double bed instead of the twin beds that we requested. Only managed to change one room to twin bed but the other one have to make do with double bed, Bad planning. The location is good! The price is very reasonable at $32.50 per twin room. However sometimes their price may surge to $70. Overall, I am satisfied. Will return again if I visit Batam.

Well I was under the impression that there will be transfers to and from the ferry terminal. I asked the hotel, they refuse to answer. My first room was a little dirty, so I requested for another. It's was done quickly and without hassle staff very polite and obliging. They provide free rides to Nagoya hill at 12 and 2pm. I waited for him time 230 and had to ask the receptionist to check. Later it becomes obvious that the driver refuse to do so. I find it strange. Be careful, the drivers in this hotel will pick a fight with ur grab driver if you book them. Although many other hotels are accommodating to grab. I wrote to the hotel twice about this issue but they simply choose to ignore my email completely. They should remove the contact section from their website. Save time. In spite of all this , the restaurant serves good food and efficient.

Hotel is within walking distance (abt 10 mins) Nagoya Hill, so it’s good, just that the road directly outside the hotel is cimplicated to cross - green man on only half the road, so one side has incoming traffic all the time. Will need a cab to other places like BCS, Megamall but not too far so taxi is not too ex. Had connecting rooms which works for us with 3 pax. Shower area could do with the titles being higher to prevent water from flowing out to to toilet area. Toilet had a foul smell sometimes. A rooftop bar to chill if you drink. Overall a good stay
