"Room was clean and comfortable but starting to show signs of needing attention (worn through couch covers, split pillow case) the TV didnt want to turn on and there has been a downgrade in the bathroom amenities from the baylis & harding i loved. Parking was plentiful"

"Cute hotel, good location, modern, and nice to have the tavern attached for a drink and breakfast, but the double room was very small and with no closet, drawers or anywhere to put suitcases we had little floor space left. Too cramped for a couple but probably great for one person. Also it's loud if you have a room facing the square. I would stay again, but in a larger room at the back of the hotel."

"Very disappointing stay, particularly considering the price paid.
The room was comfortable and the shower good, but housekeeping standards declined throughout our stay. Even after servicing, sheets were not changed, the floor was not hoovered and the bathroom was not mopped.
Breakfast was poor in both quality and service, and got worse as the week progressed. We ate in the restaurant one evening and paid premium prices for very poor food. The pizza appeared to have a shop-bought base and...

"We have stayed here before and thought it was good.
This time we were in the Coach House instead of the older building. It tried to be characterful but wasn't. It was probably built in the 80s and what little work that had been done on it since was not done well. It was tired and shabby.
There were flies in the room, going into the bathroom and then sitting on the pillows!
There were also flies in the Fat Abbot restaurant and the food left a lot to be desired, not the highly rated bistro pub...

"Large bungalow style room with full disability access and wet room.
Stylish. Comfy beds. Check in lady was friendly. Room was left open when we arrived but no electricity so had to go find someone. Bathroom bin had not been emptied but otherwise clean. Struggled to find someone serve us behind the bars. Breakfast was a little anaemic but good quality and tasty. Plenty of parking near the room Would stay again."

"The room and hotel worked for what it was offering! I enjoyed my stay and the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the door to the room I was staying in wasn’t working properly so I did run into some minor issues there. Other than that, it was very smooth sailing! Would recommend!"

"Property lovely, high standard interior.
Staff on reception felt a little awkward as if on guard sat at a desk near the stairs but were always friendly.
Access was a little difficult due to cars parked around the entrance to the car park. I guess to avoid the additional charge per night extra charge which we paid. Upon leaving our car was covered in tree sap but it will wash off.
We stayed for 4 days and no one came into our room to empty our bins, replenish toiletries or restock the hot drink...
