The bathroom is small, no counter space and the lighting is terrible. Cons: the staff is only in the hotel until 8:30 PM. "Wonderful stay at Hotel Balestri in Florence. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Breakfast was incredible every morning—fresh juices, perfectly scrambled eggs, spectacular bacon, and great yogurts. The bar was fantastic too; the bartender mixed excellent cocktails. Rooms are on the smaller side, which is expected in a building from the 1860s, but that’s a minor note. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of everything. Highly recommended!"

"We stayed at the Brunelleschi for three nights, and everything about the hotel is perfect. Although it's a bit difficult navigating to the hotel through the narrow streets of Florence, the staff was very helpful in getting us close, where a bell hop was waiting to direct us the rest of the way. Then they arranged for a driver from the garage to pick up and return the car when we checked out. Not enough emphasis seems to go to the maids who tend to the rooms, but the efforts to make our rooms up...
