Welcome to Sweet Dreams Are Made Of Skis!

Located less than five minutes from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Sugar Mountain Public Golf Course, this 4-bedroom cabin is an ideal home for a year-round mountain getaway. Sugar Mountain is a prime tourist destination with local dining, shopping, and parks. Enjoy fresh mountain air riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hikers of varying skill levels will enjoy the outdoors by hiking on one of the trails off the Parkway. Grandfather Mountain and the famous Mile-High Bridge are only seven miles away, where guests of all ages can enjoy the hiking trails and wildlife exhibits. Downtown Banner Elk, home to Lees-McRae College, is a seven-minute drive with local shopping and dining. Banner Elk Winery and Grandfather Vineyard and Winery are both about six miles from the Village of Sugar Mountain.

This cabin has an inviting, open living space with leather furniture, a wood-burning fireplace, and a wall-mounted Pac-Man 13-in-1 arcade machine. The living room opens up to a dining area and a modern kitchen featuring quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances. The wall of windows leads to a spacious main floor deck, perfect for outdoor dining with a gas grill, gas fire table, and Adirondack chairs. Enjoy the mountain air and views from the new hot tub on the deck!

On the main floor, there's a king bedroom and a bunk room with two twin-over-double bunk beds sharing a hallway bathroom. The lower level includes two king bedrooms with access to the lower-level deck. These bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and have a mini-fridge nearby for added convenience. Each room has a TV.

There are mini-splits in each bedroom and one in the main-level living area, providing year-round comfort with heat and air conditioning. Two dogs are welcome with your reservation, and pet fees will apply. Firewood is available for an additional fee. Winter travelers should prepare for inclement weather. AWD or 4WD vehicles, along with tire chains, may be necessary.

This cabin offers an outstanding balance of cozy indoor comfort and outdoor enjoyment, close to the slopes of Sugar Mountain!

House was great. Conveniently located to the main rental and ski slopes. We had the best time skiing and snowboarding. The living space has a large glass door-wall with the perfect view of the mountain landscape and snow tubing tracks.Kitchen was stocked with the essential cooking tools, the cookware was a bit overused and randomly stacked in the cupboards. Pulled out several items that were dirty. The home was tidy but certainly not spotless. We had to unload the dishwasher upon our arrival.Linens and towels were of nice quality. The home welcomed our small pups so that was a blessing for us to have them on our trip.Driveway is a bit steep and challenging if you are not prepared, but they do have one parking spot at a lower level with multiple flights of steps up the the home.The only thing that I misunderstood from the site and photos was where the bunkbeds and shared bath were located. They are on the upper level, upstairs. So if you have adults or anyone who may be slightly older or larger who sleeps in the 2 king beds (with shared bath) down on the lower level they have to navigate up a tiny spiral staircase to get up to the kitchen and living area. We made it work but just an FYI.Home was built in 1974 but has nicely renovated baths and has been recently painted. Overall it was wonderful. I like giving honest feedback (not complaints)

We loved this place. Perfect for our stay the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could possibly ever need or want. The host was very easy to contact. It was at the base of the mountain and we were able to walk to the slopes. Would definitely stay again.

Cozy cabin with great views

Loved our stay here! The cabin is super cozy, kitchen is well stocked and it’s so close to Sugar Mountain slopes. Beds were extremely comfortable and the views from the deck are amazing! We will definitely return!

Sugar Ski Trip

Great property with well appointed amenities. Convenient to Sugar and local shops and grocery stores. Nice deck with views. Definitely recommend 4wd or AWD if coming up in the winter. Driveway is steep and can be a challenge if it snows.
