  • This is the headstone of Banner Elk, North Carolina. This elk has been in the town forever, but this past year the elk has been refurbished and installed as the centerpiece of the town. This elk frames Appalachia in the sense of this small town pride in the mountains. In the background you can see the historic elementary school and rolling mountains and once again the North Carolina pride of the state flag surrounding this elk even though about 100ft to the right there is another flagpole with the same flags raised high and proud. This is where every child in this town went to school in this picturesque location but as time rolls on is Appalachia move on too? #appalachianechoes

Host was very responsive and helpful. We had a beautiful snow during our visit which made the driveway a bit slick and the host kindly arranged for the drive to be plowed. The home was clean and well cared for. The bedrooms were spacious. The screened back porch was lovely and private, and the hot tub was wonderful—clean, with strong jets. The location was incredibly convenient to both Banner Elk and Beech Mountain. As some other raters have noted, the home is directly on the parkway with a bit of noise, so it’s good to be aware of this before traveling. There was a large volume of traffic on the parkway the weekend we stayed due to the snow and an influx of visitors heading to the top of Beech Mountain for skiing/tubing. It was nice for us to be so close to a main road, though, with the driving conditions. Some other reviews mentioned the enclosed side yard with fence. There is a nice side yard, but the fence is not fully enclosed—it is a partial front fence with open hilly back. For an active dog, leash walking may be best. Love that you can bring your dogs to this home!

Me and my partner had an INCREDIBLE week at this beautiful, cozy cabin. It has every amenity needed for a week of skiing, like the awesome hot tub, and fireplace to warm up, a full kitchen, an awesome backyard to play in the snow….the owners were so accommodating when I needed to extend my stay a day to be able to arrive before a big winter storm hit. Another really great perk is the location - it sits right between Sugar and Beech mountain, making it very convenient and easy to travel throughout Banner Elk and surrounding areas. This is the kind of cabin I will certainly rent over and over again and eventually take my future kids to. 100/10 experience and amazing hospitality. We can’t wait to come back here again and again in the future!!

This cabin was the perfect weekend getaway for my family. It is in a great location only two miles from downtown Banner Elk and a short drive to Boone and Blowing Rock. The hot tub was a relaxing treat after full days of exploring. All the extra amenities we needed were provided (more than I have experienced in other rentals). The fence in the front yard gave us peace of mind to let our dog and 1 1/2 year old roam while we all spent time outside. A light snow on the morning we left was the icing on the cake!

This cabin wasn't only cozy, but it was extremely comfortable and clean. The hot tub was amazing! These things along with the location being so close to Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Grand Father Mountain and Boone makes this the place to stay.

The cabin was great for us and our dogs. We enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. It was only 5 minutes from downtown Banner Elk. It does sit along a road and with it being a busy weekend for fall foliage and Octoberfest going on, it was understandable for the traffic to be more than usual (this was only during the day, at night it was quiet) We saw lots of deer and chipmunks on the property during our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful clean home. Very cozy and quiet. Hot tub is wonderful. Hosts are very kind and easy to communicate with. Close to Banner elk restaurants and great Beech Mountain Views. We have stayed here before and we look forward to when we can go again! Highly recommended this place and its hosts!

Always wonderful

We've stayed here three times and plan on continuing to. The property owners are very responsive and compassionate to the guests' needs. On our last trip, our dog was having health issues and we had to cancel our initial travel. They let us rebook two weeks later with no charge. That was our last trip with our dog Hazel and I'm very grateful for the memories.

Beech Mt Cabin

Cozy rustic cabin with mountain decor. Plenty of space in the 2 bedrooms. Two full baths was appreciated. Older but functional kitchen was stocked with kitchen items needed to prepare meals. Hot tub on the back screen porch is an added bonus. Good communication and easy Venmo payment to the owners. Definitely recommended.

Perfect Weekend

The cabin was a great spot to relax while attending a wedding in Banner Elk. Extremely close to the venue, restaurants, shops, and all the skiing. Beds were comfortable and the fire place was awesome. The hot tub was the cherry on top!
