Adrenaline seekers will love taking part in the hour-long blast of the rapids at the National White Water Centre (6 miles), while those seeking a calmer afternoon may like to embark on a trail at Coed y Brenin Forest Park (9 miles). Back in Bala, mosey around the shops before popping into one of the cosy cafes for a cup of tea and Welsh cake.
