  • Johnson Homestead se encuentra cerca del extremo sur de Bailey Island, Maine.     The Johnson Homestead es una casa de cuatro dormitorios totalmente amueblada con 2 baños completos que dan a la entrada de Mackeral Cove. Solo tendrá capacidad para 6-8 invitados.     En un día claro, el Monte Washington es claramente visible en la distancia y las puestas de sol en la noche pueden ser espectaculares.     The Johnson Homestead: Esta es una maravillosa casa de 1 piso con una vista espectacular de Casco Bay y acceso a 'Little Harbour', una playa semiprivada. El diseño de la casa permite un fácil acceso para las misiones que puedan tener esa necesidad. Nuestro alquiler está amueblado con 4 dormitorios, 2 baños, cocina / comedor, lavadora y secadora. Puede entrar por la puerta y sentirse como en casa. Hay calefacción central en caso de que te encuentres con un frío día de primavera u otoño.
    Para aquellos de ustedes que disfrutan de la langosta de Maine, el propietario toma pedidos diarios. Desde su trampa de langosta entregada a usted para su mesa, todo en el mismo día. Eso es fresco!

Beautiful coastal location, comfortable rooms, plenty of parking, great communication with host. We really enjoyed our time at David’s home on Bailey Island and would absolutely stay here again.

The sunset on the bay was gorgeous, and the shared beach was calm and easy to access. The house was impeccably clean and well-supplied. Mr. Johnson was friendly and available. We were well-satisfied with the accommodations.

Bailey Island 2023

The house is an older Maine homestead in a perfect location. it has plenty of space with comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. We have stayed here before and it is our favorite local property.

Great Get Away

This house on Bailey Island is a very restful spot: in a quiet neighborhood, great for long walks, wonderful sunsets and 4 places to eat close by. David Johnson, our host, was a wealth of knowledge, quick to meet our needs and patient with our questions about lobstering. We had a great week there.

Beautiful Bailey Island

Loved the location for the easy access and walking to the various points of interest. Especially liked the proximity of Lands End for many reasons. The scenery was wonderful!! All in all a great week!! Thank you!!

Wonderful stay

The Johnson homestead was so warm and inviting! We enjoyed visiting with Mr. Johnson and his family. They are very nice people. The beach is a short walk behind the house and we enjoyed searching for the perfect shells! The house was very clean and Had really comfortable beds!! We will hopefully be back with our family next year!!

Sept Stay

Quaint, cozy, thoughtfully stocked, and nautically themed house by the sea. We enjoyed every minute wishing we had endless time to stay. For anyone unfamiliar with the neighborhood and surrounding communities I found the binder an excellent source for info. We will be back

Lovely location!

It is definitely an older home, but was comfortable and was very homey. We were brought 4 live lobsters on our first night- only $35 total for the 4!! Wish our stay could have been longer. Thank you, David and Doreen!

Tip of Bailey Island, a lovely spot.

Our family had a lovely time here. There is water access in front of the house (across the road) and behind the house (across the yard and down a hill), and lovely views of the cove from the living room. Plenty of lawn to set up croquet and badminton, and a screened in back porch for meals. 4 minute walk to the beach at Lands End. This is a family home and as such is not fancy but we found it very comfortable and perfect for a base for adventures as well as relaxing on a rainy morning. Well supplied kitchen, towels, and a grill!

Lovely stay at the Johnson homestead

This property is a family home located almost at the end of Baileys island. The spirit of the home is warmth and heritage with love. The owners are responsive and helpful. As described there is seaview in front and back. Close to all things on Bailey and Orrs island. We had a wonderful view of the Northern lights!! Automatic generator for those gale type nights. Comfortable and well cared for home. A great place to come back to after a day of wandering.

Great Family Get Away

The Johnson Homestead is a great place to stay and enjoy the beauty of Maine. My parents have rented the property for our family vacation for the past two years (two weeks in 2010 and one in 2011). The home is far more spacious than you would guess when viewing the property. Each of the bedrooms is decent size and can accomodate a pack and play (or two). All of the comforts of home are provided including dishes, linens, cookware, games, laundry. The close proximity to the beach is a life saver, no packing the car with all the goodys the children 'need' for a day at the beach. Just walk down to the beach and walk home for lunch and nap. The Bailey Islad area is beautiful and not far from Brunswick & Bath, two cool little cities.

Great week on Bailey Island

We had a great stay with extended family. The house is much larger than it looks and the bedrooms are all a pretty good size. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room. The only issue i had was it was a bit warm for me not having a/c, but we knew that when we booked. They do have many fans in the house and that helped a lot. This was our first time staying on Bailey Island and we loved it. The owner of the house lives next door and his sister lives on the other side and they, along with everyone else we met on the island, were so nice. The house is convenient to walk down to the lands end gift shop and we also walked to the giant stairs. Be prepared if you stay on the island, everything else is a bit of a trip. I didnt mind it one bit, but some people might find that difficult. But its a beautiful place to visit and I think we will be back.

Lodging, owners and property manager were wonderful

The lodging was every thing we expected and more. The owners & property manager were delightful. My only complaint was with VRBO who thinks we should know their policies and procedures. I think sending out Check In information only 72 hours before arrival is not enough time. Plus I did not look for it at 72 hours so I missed the email and got my information even later. I panicked when I did get it because I thought we had a multiple vehicles parking issue and it was not clear to me how to contact someone at that late date (within 24 hours of arrival.) I think VRBO should send out check in information sooner so we have time to notify all parties involved since we were coming from different directions and the contact person should be a telephone number and not an email. I had other questions post payment of rental and it was not clear on how to talk to a live person. This created last minute and unnecessary anxiety. Once communication was clear all issues were resolved. Our stay was wonderful.
