Cozy heated home near Carcassonne, self contained & ideal for weekends away

After spending many years visiting and travelling in France, we decided to put all our experience and enthusiasm into our own property and offer a very special stay for all our guests
Our gite is furnished in a quirky and eclectic style with a unique mix of traditonal French furniture and British style. We've indulged our love of brocante to furnish the rooms with some very special items which gives a lovely welcoming and homely ambience in the heart of Badens, a traditional and authentic French village.
We love the best, whether thats a leather sofa or crystal lamps and don't think twice about mixing it up with contemporary fish themed wallpaper which I'm sure you'll love! It's the attention to detail and the care of our guests that make a stay with us outstanding and memorable
Only 20 minutes away is the stunning city of Carcassonne, a scene from many movies and incredibly real despite it looking like a Disney castle - it really needs to be seen to be believed! Or maybe a wander around a traditional French market or a superb meal in a Michelin starred restaurant - the Bastide, or fortified old town, has it all
It would be a shame to come all this way to the South of France and not see the sea and with the Mediterranean less than an hour away, it would be rude not to! Relax on the beach at Narbonne or explore the beautiful seaside village of Gruissan, you're spoilt for choice
Closer to home, the charming local vineyards are a 5 minute walk from your door. Take a stroll through cool swaying pine trees listening to the cicadas and imagining yourself picking grapes while the Occitaine sun warms your bones - its our own paradise
When you've had enough of exploring, why not stroll to our local wine producer and sample his distinctive single variety wines grown from grapes less than 100 metres from your door. The Minervois region has plenty of delicious produce to keep your taste buds tingling!
If you're a cyclist, we are part of the national Accueil Velo scheme, you'll have your own secure storage area, tools and washing equipment available and a welcome drink and supplies for a relaxing evening meal
In the evening, feel free to relax in your own private courtyard, whether you're enjoying a glass of wine, reading, catching up with social media or just looking at the stars - no light pollution here!
