Add, the Avila Beach area location is/was a perfect travel balance for our day trips to Santa Barbara and San Simeon, in addition to exploring the Pismo / Avila areas. "This house was just what we were looking for for a week of bicycling in Morro Bay. There was plenty of car parking in the driveway and garage. We were able to store our bikes in the garage. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. There was a grocery store within walking distance. The host was helpful and responded promptly to communication."

"OMGosh! What a gem Captain Java’s cottage is. Everything about my stay was pure perfection. How could it be anything but perfection when falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. "This home is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning view of the Rock. We really enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was, right down to the spices and essentials for cooking. I’ve stayed in several homes in the area over the years, and this was the nicest by far.The only note is that the 10 a.m. checkout felt a little early for us. When I inquired about a later checkout, there was an additional fee (175 for two hours), and the cleaning person arrived just before 10, so...
