Wake to morning birdsong in a clean quiet cozy two-bedroom cottage on a lifestyle block nestled at the foothills of the Waitakere ranges.

~Conveniently located for the airport (40 mins), to the city (car 30 mins, train or bus), west or north (SH 16)
~2 minutes drive to the local Swanson train station
~2 minutes shops with superette, hairdresser, liquor store butcher and takeaways (fish and chips, Indian, Kebabs) and local cafes

The perfect springboard for exploring the wonderful West Coast with its wineries, shopping centers, and natural wonders. Beautiful surf beaches, magnificent waterfalls, native bush, and stunning lakes are all within minutes of Palm Haven Cottage.

Check-in after 2 pm; Check - out 10 am unless by prior arrangement
Special conditions:
It has a large fully fully-fenced deck
No parties or group gatherings
No camping
No pets
Smoking is allowed outside only, please don't throw butts on the ground.
Remove shoes before going inside as we have chickens that are free-range and you may stand in a poop
Check-in after 2 pm and before 8 pm or after 8 pm by prior arrangement. Check out at 10 am unless by prior arrangement

Extras: Cleaning for one to seven-night stays (Required, NZ$50.00 per stay); Longer stays POA. Linen (included) NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Leave the house clean and tidy and do the dishes before you leave

Quaint and Clean

The cabin is quite well stocked, clean and the beds are really comfortable. Our only issues as trying to find the place and would encourage everyone to print off Donna’s detailed instructions before you travel as the GPS and internet are spotty to say the least. Also, the place could be more clearly marked and the road up to the property is very narrow and challenging. We also had to kill a few moths and spiders which wasn’t pleasant. If you need a place to get aways from the city, then this is it!!

Perfect in every way

We were staying over two nights to attend a family in Piha, and travelling with my 81 year old Mum, who has mobility issues. This was the perfect home for her and the extended family was able to pop in before the ceremony to say hello. Plenty of lovely deck space to spread out on without getting under each other's feet.

Lovely spot to escape the city. Nice and peaceful. The host was welcoming and loved watching the bird life. Incredibly clean and tidy. Would definitely stay again 😊

2 day stay while traveling.

Me and my partner are traveling the area and chose this property for a two night stay. Even though we were late arriving, the host met us and showed us around. Everything that was needed was available. The was tea and coffee and many pantry items. Everything was nice and clean. The bedding was good and the garden was beautiful. It worked very well for a two day stop on a driving trip.

Heavenly haven

This is a unique peaceful, quiet,and spiritual haven. Stress relief guaranteed. We all loved the homeliness and proximity to everywhère western,only 5 minutes to shops, if needed. We cant wait to go again. The hosts were kind and made us feel really welcome, cant wait to go again.

Great private accomodation

We had a lovely stay, our flights were delayed so we checked in late and the host Donna was so wonderful and kind, she had turned the heaters on to warm the house up prior to our arrival. Beautiful private location. We will stay again.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt in einem excellenten Cottage

Wir haben uns in dem sehr schönen, ruhigen und abgeschlossenen Haus sehr wohl gefühlt, und würden sofort wieder kommen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit und fürsorglich gewesen. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Die Lage ist wunderschön in einem herrlichen Garten.

Lovely stay

Wet Weekend

A cute little bach in a beautiful setting, probably lovely when the sun is shining. Unfortunately our stay was during the worst rainfall on record for Auckland. We were in Auckland to attend the Elton John Concert and that was a wash out, power was lost to the bach for around 36 hours so cold showers and difficulty charging our phones, no internet so the emails from the owners were difficult to access, and limited cellphone coverage. They finally delivered a gas cooker so we could make a cup of tea. Covered deck came in handy for all our sodden clothes. Luckily the access didn't wash out. Power guys turning up at 11.30pm was disconcerting but didn't achieve anything. Take your mossie repellent, they were vicious.

Great base for our stay

Thanks so much Donna for having us to stay. The property is beautiful and you don't feel like you are in Auckland at all, but everything is close. The kids loved exploring the property and feeding the chickens. We were warm and cozy, and the cottage had everything we needed.
