We arrived more than 2.5 hrs past check-in time and our room was not ready. Desk clerk said reason was shortage of housekeeping staff. She should have called us at 3pm check-in time with a heads up. And again at 4pm. And again at 5pm. Or at the very least, call us at 3pm and say she’d call us when it was ready. Now upon arrival we had half an hour to be elsewhere at an appt. and could not wait the unknown amount of time she said it would take for our room to be ready.
She said we could try to get a double queen room at one of their sister hotels nearby, but again, we had no time at the last minute to research those and confirm that they were comparable in value to what we had already paid in full for at Avid. Again, if she had called us at 3pm when she knew our room was not ready, we could have contemplated and researched these options from the road on our way to the hotel. But we had to settle for one king bed instead of the two queens we had booked and paid for six weeks in advance.
Empty or half full shower product bottles, and no facial tissue or toilet paper back-ups when we got to the room.

Remote control had no battery cover, fully exposing batteries
When we arrived, television would not turn on via power button on remote. We had to get the desk to describe where to find the button on the tv to get the remote to work. Should be instruction signage near tv.
