Cannigione is one of the most beautiful towns in the Gallura region of northeastern Sardinia, surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Arzachena, in whose deep bay the port of Cannigione has been situated since ancient times. A very popular holiday destination, it enjoys a convenient central location compared to other tourist resorts in northern Sardinia, and especially in relation to the other beaches of the Costa Smeralda.

Climatically, Cannigione is an excellent holiday resort, as it is sheltered from the strong northeasterly winds. The town center is centered around the Andrea Doria waterfront promenade, overlooking the marina, one of the best-equipped harbors in the region. Private boats offer excursions to the magnificent islands of the Maddalena Archipelago and to the various bays of the Costa Smeralda.

Cannigione is particularly appealing to water sports enthusiasts and snorkelers. The beach consists of fine, light granite sand and is easily accessible as it stretches along the coastal road.
