"The room was very nice with lots of room for luggage and it had all the necessary amenities as well as the little extras like cookies and chocolate. The hosts were great, giving us lots of useful information and the breakfast they provided was wonderful. The heated bathroom floors were a real luxury."

"What an amazing experience - one of the best stays I have had ever. So much attention to detail and the most welcoming and accommodating hosts. Dinner was delicious (I am vegan and they were very accommodating). Every moment we we were there was absolute perfection. If you are thinking about booking here stop thinking and just book, you will not regret it! "

"The lodge is located in a very remote location, despite of getting groceries are so inconvenient, Blake showed great generosity and hospitality to all the guests, make us feel like staying in an old friend's house. Kitchen, bathroom, and bed linen are of 5-stars clean. If you're planning to go on the Hump Ridge Track, choose Rarakau Lodge for your pre-departure accommodation is definitely the best option. "

"Absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful lake view! Clean, convenient and cozy with heated floors. Friendly and welcoming staff - so helpful with maps and suggestions! Walking distance to near by surroundings! Affordable and great value for the price and family friendly - would highly recommend!"

"A lovely location, a short walk away from the breathtaking views of Lake Te Anau and beyond. The room was lovely and the staff were lovely! As it was off season, we were the only ones on site for the duration of our stay. There was laundry on site, a nice and airy living/common space, the kitchen was available for most of the day, so you could borrow cutlery and plates as required, use the communal fridge if you needed. The staff were so kind too, happy to help you plan your day or find your way...
