Unfortunately, our two-week stay was quite disappointing, mainly due to the food and poor organisation. The biggest problem was that there simply wasn’t enough food for all the guests. The menu was very limited at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At first, we thought we were arriving too late, but even when we started coming earlier, there was still not enough food and very little choice. We have stayed at many hotels in Zanzibar, and we have never experienced anything like this before. I find this unacceptable and disrespectful to the guests. There were also other management issues. The hotel forgot about a birthday celebration, and when we reminded them, a cake was prepared in just five minutes. This was extremely disappointing and, in our opinion, completely unacceptable for such a special occasion. At the end of our stay, an additional charge was added to our bill that should not have been there. We had to question and clarify the charge, which was another unpleasant experience. The staff themselves were friendly and helpful, and we have no complaints about them. The main problems seem to be with the management and overall organisation of the hotel. The second beach also needs renovation. There are many stones at the entrance to the sea, making it very difficult and uncomfortable to walk barefoot. Nos trataron increíble, llegamos una noche a descansar y fue el mejor lugar para descansar que pudimos escoger!

Incroyable séjour au paradis! Nous avons passé deux semaines en famille (7 personnes) au royal mandarin. Paysages à couper le souffle, magnifique plage, chambres spacieuses et très propres, restauration excellente et variée. Tout était parfait! Mais ce qui a surtout rendu ce séjour exceptionnel, c’est la gentillesse et l’amabilité de tout le personnel de l’hôtel, depuis les femmes de chambres jusqu’au top management. Un grand merci à Nader et Jacques de la direction, Hanna et Ahmed qui nous ont régalé au restaurant, Mc Donald, Fausta, Anna, Gatty, Nasra, Grace, Stella, Veronica, Tumain, Godefrey, Ashim, Martha, Leocadia, et tout le staff (désolés si nous avons oublié certains noms…). Nous avons déjà beaucoup voyagé dans de nombreux pays et dans de nombreux hôtels, mais notre séjour au royal mandarin est probablement l’une de nos meilleures expériences ! Encore merci à tous!
