Apple Tree Cottage - Apollo Bay

Nestled in the heart of the serene landscapes of Willowshire Cottages, Apple Tree Cottage stands as a perfect haven for couples yearning for a peaceful and tranquil escape. This charming Storybook Cottage is one of three accommodations, located in the rainforest valley of Barham River Road, is a mere eight to ten minutes’ drive from Apollo Bay. Be enchanted by the views of the private lake and grounds and connect with nature in an area of natural beauty known as ‘Paradise’; with its wildlife and pebbled streams, whilst still being able to enjoy all that the Great Ocean Road and its beaches has to offer.
The cottage is equipped with everything that you should need to make your stay a magical one. Enjoy a wine in front of the fire, relax in the spa bath for two before retiring to your bed made comfortable with crisp white linens. Alternatively, you may wish to cook yourself a barbecue and enjoy it sitting on Adirondack chairs overlooking the ornamental lake. A kitchen, smart television, sound bar and WIFI offers you all the comforts of home. You may see ducks, king parrots, echidnas, koalas, wallabies and, if you are lucky, glow worms.

An Honest Review - Apple Tree Cottage

My partner and I made the trek from the east of Melbourne out to Apollo Bay and stayed at the Apple Tree Cottage for 3 days for our honeymoon. The location and surrounding scenery is nothing short of amazing. Being able to open your blinds in the morning and look out across the picturesque lake is incredible. Only being a short 10 minute trip from town is also a great bonus. The cottage itself is lovely with a good layout and nice rooms, the bathroom with spa bath, cosy little fireplace in the lounge room, and large deck with comfy chairs are all awesome. If you are looking for a quiet and cozy getaway for even just a few days the Apple Tree Cottage is the place you want to go. For us, the only reason that Apple Tree Cottage loses a star is from the cleanliness of the cottage itself and its surrounds. In the bathroom there was low hanging cobwebs and a very dusty extraction fan that despite the high ceilings would’ve been easy to be reached for cleaning. The cottage is a dog friendly area and although it is the responsibility of the owner of said pet/s to clean up after them, it was disappointing that there was a large dog poo right in the car parking area for the cottage, which would be an area you would walk when going to the boot of your car. Overall, our stay here was excellent and we would love to return down the track if revisiting the area, the cottage would get a 4.5 star rating if half stars could be given. Unfortunately we are only able to give 4/5.
