Not the friendliest of check ins / guest interaction.
Placed in the basement room. When we got to the room, the room had a musty smell (there was a window and air-conditioning). The TV was hanging from the wall wonkily. The TV did not work and the window would not shut / lock so was open and had access to stairs / staff area.
I went to reception to mention the window and TV. The receptionist was fairly blunt and stated that they know there are faults and that I booked that basement room. I mentioned that I booked a room that I thought would be secure and would have working facilities.
In summary, the receptionist stated that I would have to pay an additional 20 euros to stay in another room. I mentioned that I thought this was unfair. The window and TV are beyond my control and that if the other rooms are empty what is the problem with allowing us another room that has a working window and TV.
The receptionist stated that we cannot upgrade to a 'room with a city view" just because we wanted to.
The receptionist later sent someone to fix the window so we could leave the room with valuables inside however the service from the receptionist was sharp and not customer accommodating. Although we don't go away for a TV, we do appreciate the facility if it is offered.
If we had been away for more than one night, we would have cancelled our booking and gone elsewhere instead.
