I was really drawn to the Bastion Amsterdam Airport hotel for the shuttle service. Orange bus we were told. No orange buses came. After about 2 hours of trying to phone someone/anyone with no success, we were told by an AVIS worker what to look for. Our experience after with the shuttle was excellent.
As for the cleanliness and housekeeping. It left alot to be desired. Spent 3 nights there and i dont think the floor was mopped/swept once. Grit underfoot. Garbage emptied but other little bits of rubbish on bench or floor, not touched not even bits that had obviously fallen out of the bin. Not happyJan!
The food - well, good and bad. Breakfast was really delicious, plenty of variety and quite tasty. Dinner on the other hand, schnitzel was dry and tough but the mushroom sauce was to die for!
A BIG, BIG plus was the friendly, helpful and cheerful workers at reception. Outstanding service!!! My fridge not working and it was fixed before I had finished dinner! Amazing!
WOULD I STAY AGAIN? I probably would but would make sure my room was cleaned properly before I arrived and the menu was changed or added to giving more options that are more palatable.
