The Loon Nest on Halfmoon Lake is waiting for you at this charming 3-bedroom water-front cottage with a dock and beach in a family friendly setting.

Halfmoon Lake is 283 acres, spring fed with large and small mouth bass, horned pout, and perch. We take pride in our two resident loons and occasional babies. Enjoy the lake's wildlife with our bald eagles soaring above as well as a muskrat that swims by a couple times a day.

The lake front at the cottage has a shallow entry to the lake, ideal for small children. The depth at end of dock is less than 4 feet. A sandy beach is right on the property.

Boats can be brought and tied on the left side of the dock. There are two boat launches on the lake.

Please note that a separate dock has a Float Plane that is shared with the property and is used by a couple of pilots occasionally. Please inquire if you would like to go for a Float Plane ride and share the expenses during your stay.

Alton Bay is 7 miles, Wolfeboro 16, Laconia 19 and Concord 24.

This property is licensed and inspected for Short Term Rental with the Town of Alton and registered with the State of NH. Don’t let your vacation be ruined by staying somewhere unlicensed. NH License #105602 and Alton STR License #2025-001

The depth at end of the dock is less than 4 feet. Diving is strictly prohibited.

Richard was the perfect host! The cottage was immaculate, decorated so nicely, VERY thoughtfully put together with many nice touches! Lots of board games, binoculars, plush bath and beach towels, and so much more! A welcome card with a nice bottle of wine. Kayaks were great! If we needed anything Richard was right there to help! The deck right on the waters edge was perfection! The fishing on the lake was awesome!!! We caught so many fish! We were so impressed with everything, you can tell so much love and thought went into making it a welcoming, cozy cottage. and will definitely be back again next summer :)

We had an incredible stay at The Loon’s Nest! Everything was great from the moment we arrived: check-in was a breeze and we enjoyed a complimentary welcome bottle of wine on the back deck overlooking the gorgeous lake! We had everything we needed for our stay and the entire cottage was very clean and had all new appliances. We definitely took advantage of being right on the water, using the kayaks provided and taking in the amazing views! I would recommend Loon’s Nest to anyone looking for a summer getaway on a quieter lake that’s still close to all the attractions of the surrounding Lakes Region. Would definitely stay again!
