Escape to the beauty of Black Cat Ranch, nestled on 40 acres in the serene North Corazones area of Terlingua Ranch, just outside the boundary of Big Bend National Park. This charming retreat comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests.
Conveniently located just 34 miles from Terlingua Ghost Town and 32 miles from an entrance to Big Bend National Park, Black Cat Ranch offers easy access to adventure, while maintaining the solitude and tranquility of a remote desert retreat. This eco-friendly cabin was designed with sustainability and comfort in mind.

The cabin features a full bath with stand-up shower and all the essentials, a Sleep Number queen bed, and a pull-out couch to accommodate two additional guests. The kitchenette is well-equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishes, and utensils. Dishes are washed in the shed and the water used for a 30 gal. pond. Enjoy cooking on the two-burner gas cooktop or grill located on the porch. A propane firepit is provided for cozy evenings on the porch, and a traditional firepit is also available, though please note that wood fire use may be restricted during a county-wide burn ban. A mini-split wall unit offers both A/C and heat for year-round comfort. Stay connected with Starlink high-speed internet, ensuring you can work or stream during your stay.

Relax in the cabin's living area, complete with a 40-inch Roku smart tv, soundbar and Dish TV for entertainment. The porch boasts stunning views of Big Bend National Park and Rosillo Peak, making it the perfect spot for unwinding.

Water is sourced through a sustainable rain-water catchment system, filtered for your use, but it's recommended to bring your own drinking water.

The moment you step onto the property, you'll be captivated by the sweeping desert landscapes and the fresh air. As a Dark Skies community, the night sky at Black Cat Ranch is a true spectacle. You'll witness the Milky Way and a blanket of stars like you've never seen before---perfect for stargazing enthusiasts.

You'll also experience local wildlife right at your doorstep, with mule deer, javelina, coyotes, roadrunners, and even the occasional elk stopping by. Additionally, the area is a birdwatcher's paradise, as we feed various bird species that frequent the property.

For an added touch of connivence, Terlingua Ranch Lodge is only 6 miles away, offering the Bad Rabbit Cafe for a casual meal and a pool (for a small fee) to cool off during warmer weather.

Big Ben Trip awesome stay

Property was very nice, loved watching stars at night. Even though Property manager's house was next door we never saw him, but knew he was there if we needed him. The cabin is about 10 miles off the main road, so it was very secluded, we loved it. The cabin was big enough for the 3 of us and well stocked with what we needed. Bob was quick to respond to question.

Great remote getaway

Great spot for spending time in the Big Bend/Terlingua area. All the creature comforts you would want but none of the crowds. Was very clean and very well stocked with a great porch to hang out on in the evenings.

Great Get Away

This cabin was very clean and and had all the amenities needed. Bob was very helpful with his communications It seemed to be in the middle of no where surrounded by mountains. It was really enjoyable and peaceful to sit outside after dark and look at the numerous stars

Great little private cottage

We really loved the solitude and cleanliness of the cabin. The Dark Skies are awesome. It's about 30 miles to the National Park, but the drive is awesome. Terligua Ghost town has plenty of restaurants and bars, and its just 35 miles away.

Valentine getaway

Description of house is accurate. It had everything we could possibly need or want. It is definitely remote but those stars you could see so vividly. Bob is informative and really nice by messenger. Owners were not present during our stay but regardless it wouldn’t have been an issue for me. Glad we pre-bought our snacks/drinks because there are no grocery stores or gas station near by. We drove to Big Bend everyday to hike and we bought a couple of things from a small grocery store to cookout at the house versus eating out, we loved the setup to cook and star gaze at the same time. It Is a drive to and from the park but what you get at this house versus what’s to rent in Terlingua Definitely out weighs it. We plan on going back to off road in the park and I will definitely book this house again. Thanks Bob.

As advertised.

The property was clean and cozy, exactly as advertized. The owner does have a place onsite, as stated in the listing. They were not there while we were, but had they been, it may have been a bit too close. Again, its listed as such and the pictures are acurate. I suppose I let my imagination assume it was a bit further away. Regardless, the pripert was great and the accommodations were clean, cozy, and exceeded expectations.

Ruhe und Natur

Wie hatten zwei wundervolle Nächte in Bobs Unterkunft. Er selbst war stets sehr hilfreich und hat auch sofort geantwortet und geholfen, als wir kurz eine neue Gasflasche brauchten.Das Objekt war leicht zu finden, auch wenn es eine gute Zeit zu fahren ist bis man da ist. Dafür ist es sehr ruhig und Bob hat ein paar Installationen, wo auch Tiere hinkommen. So gibt es beispielsweise eine Vogeltränke und Vogelfutter und auch ein Wasserbecken wo Abend ein Javelina und ein Koyote waren. Super Nächte, aber man sollte Einsamkeit und wilde Tiere mögen und achtsam mit der Natur sein. danke Bob!

Enjoyable Experience at Black Cat Ranch

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Black Cat Ranch during my group hiking trip to Big Bend National Park, and I can confidently say it was a perfect oasis! I appreciated the clear communication from the host who was very responsive and helpful with any inquiries or special requests I had. The property was stocked with essentials such as towels, sheets, extra blankets and plates/cups/cutlery which made the stay that much more convenient. The view from every angle of the property was breathtaking and I had a blast taking in the sunrise each morning and taking photos that I will cherish.

It is located in the middle of nowhere and that is what we wanted. The place is great, clean with everything you need and in the evening you can enjoy the peace of this plac and the milky way. We loved it and should we return to Big Bend, we will book this place again.
