"We had 5 days at Swallows Lodge & the accommodation is first class. Cosy, warm & spotless. I honestly can't think of anything that could be improved. Excellent quality of furnishings. Comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen including washing machine & drier, which we did use due to the weather being wet at times. Amazing views of Derwentwater & hills & enclosed garden which our dog loved. Would highly recommend & we will definitely be visiting again in the future."

One caused a flame to shoot out the wall melting the wires in the kitchen socket, the other melted the wires in the immersion heater meaning no hot water for several days. "The Cottage was ideally located for lots of adventures and had a very homely feel. The Cottage has the benefit of off road parking and because there are really good amenities in Braithwaite together with the fabulous walks from the door ranging from a Wainwright to a gentle stroll around the village we didn't use the car. We particularly enjoyed the walk up Barrow and Outerside with our dog Toby. I'm sure we will be staying again."

"Lovely cottage, every thing done very well and to high spec. Comfortable and well thought out. Only quibbles are having to adjust the heating constantly if you're not out all day ( not likely in February) and would have liked instructions on how the locks work! It was a bit hit and miss to get it right, not ideal if there was an emergency."
