"We found a lot to love about Herbst Cottage! While the layout is a little unconventional (the huge master bedroom is the only direct route in and out of the house to the back decks and pool), the spaces were big enough for 10 people, and the places we were most interested in, which were the kitchen, backyard/pool, and beach access, were really great. Well equipped with the exception of broken dishwashers (both indoor and tiki bar were broken most of the week) and a leaking ice machine. Response...

"This home is located in a wonderful area close to everything and very stunning! The pool and hot tub along with the canal is perfect! The home is well stocked with everything you would possibly need while on vacation. My family loved the kayaks! We will be returning next year!! "

"Loved this classic OBX house. Plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen well stocked. Location was awesome right on the beach and next to the pier. Owner was very responsive and honest. We left some items in the home at checkout and he notified us right away and agreed to mail them to us! Would stay here again!"

"Kitchen was equipped with lots of large bowls and serving platters. Plenty of plates and flatware for a large group (14). The pool was great and the hot tub was fantastic. Grocery store and fantastic ice cream place within a few blocks walk. Beach access was just a block away. 2 refrigerators was nice to have. "

"Had a great time with family and friends! The house was very spacious and accommodating for multiple families with children. Very secluded and quiet. We did have to cut our trip short due to emergency evacuation order due to hurricane Erin. Overall we enjoyed our first few days and are considering making it a yearly trip to the same home! "
