Welcome to Fotinari Villa II, a part of the Fotinari Villas complex with six spacious bedrooms, accommodating up to 12 guests. Just a short stroll from the villa, discover two charming, unorganized beaches. To enhance your beach experience, we supply umbrellas and portable sun beds, ensuring your comfort and enjoyment by the sea. Nestled in the serene southern coastal area of Plakias in Rethymno, the 250 sq. m residence provides breathtaking views of the Libyan Sea, creating a tranquil haven for its visitors.

1st Floor - Elevated hillside position with panoramic sea views

-One shared family bathroom with shower (for the remaining two bedrooms)
-Laundry room with washer and dryer

Beautiful villa, beautiful location

We spent a wonderful 10 days at this Villa with extended family and children aged between 10 and 17. The location of the villa is excellent and it really is just a stones throw to the little beach and a 5 minute drive into Plakias (for supermarket, tavernas, shops etc). It can get very windy on the nearest big beaches like Sousa and Plakias but the little beach nearest the villa was sheltered and always protected by the wind. It’s definitely a different ‘feel’ to Crete in the South to the North - much quieter and less tourists, but it’s only a 40 minute drive to Rethymno in the North if you fancy a bit more shopping/ water activities one day. The Villa was beautifully decorated with wonderful views and very well equipped. Just a note - we had 2 wild cats that seemed used to living in the outdoor kitchen and had obviously been fed by people before us…..fine if you like cats but just to note if you don’t!

Phenomenal villa vacay

The villa was even better in person which is rarely the case. The property managers were very responsive to our requests (ice cube trays for example) and even provided some groceries on arrival. Everything worked well, everyone had plenty of space, and it was a good value for the price. Definitely no need to have the pool heated in June or any summer months. Southern Crete is rugged and beautiful (and windy) with plenty of beaches for the little kids, snorkeling opportunities, interesting hikes and mountain villages and monasteries to explore. My only complaint was with the villa's concierge service, you'll get better value looking elsewhere for booking massages, finding boats, etc.

Wirklich schön, aber nicht mit 12 Erwachsenen

Wunderbare Lage, die Gemeinschaftsräume sind hochwertig und edel eingerichtet. Leider sind die Zimmer in der Mitte viel zu klein, es gibt keine Ablagemöglichkeiten, was in dieser Preiskategorie so nicht sein sollte. Das bezieht sich auch auf das gemeinsame Minibad, das für 4 Erwachsene eine einzige Katastrophe ist. Leider hatten wir auch ungebetene Gäste im Haus, die auch den Jakuzzi benutzten. Die Reinigung des wunderschönen Außenbereiches ließ auch zu wünschen übrig, Mäusereste der Katzen wurden nicht zufriedenstellend beseitigt.

Villa Review

A wonderful, clean property in a really nice area. The pool and outdoor dining area are especially good and where the family spent most of their time during the holiday (you need to have the pool heated to get the most out of it especially in the evenings). The bedrooms are really clean and comfortable and there was regular cleaning of the property and changing of the beds (3 x in a week)! The smaller members of our group loved the outdoor play area. The villa is located a short distance out of Plakias which is a small traditional resort with some great tavernas and ice cream bars. You will need a car but it is just a few minutes drive. There is a nearer resort of Souda which we didn't get to. There are also some lovely tavernas in surrounding villages up in the mountains. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the property to enjoy a really great family holiday.

Great holidays

We stayed with the group of 5 adults and 5 kids defferent age, the house is very comfortable and spacious, vicinity of the beach gave us the freedom and choice between swimming pool and great beach. We loved the house, beautiful interiors, evenings in the outdoor kitchen and living room with the outstanding view. Plakias touristic place, which is nearby is very cosy with many good tavernas. I highly recommend the villa and this part of Crete.

Amazing unit with an amazing location

We rented this Villa for our post-covid vaccine family reunion. The property was actually even nicer than the pictures. The area is amazing and the design of the property takes full advantage of breathtaking views of the Ocean and Plakias bay. There are a couple of coves within 50 meters of the property that we used extensively for swimming every day (in addition to the property's pool which we really liked). Also Souda beach is a ~1 km walk with 2 nice taverna's to pick from. Lots of room and bathrooms. The equipment and kitchenware are very high quality and worked very well. The owner Olga, rental agency etouri, and housekeeper/groundkeeper Kristos were all very professional, responsive and highly accommodating. There recommendations for shopping and tour options were spot on. Overall, we had an amazing experience and would recommend it to others. One thing to keep in mind is the unit is on a cliff, so it is three stories. So plan on getting a lot of stair steps in while there.
