Schönes Haus in fantastischer Lage. Mega freundliche Besitzer. In der dazugehörigen Taverne bekommt man sehr leckeres griechisches Essen zu unglaublich fairen Preisen. Man fühlt sich absolut willkommen. Wunderschöne Strände und sauberes klares Meer.

Villa Despina

Après un long voyage, nous avons été accueillis par un panier avec des petites douceurs locales! Hôte très gentil, à l’écoute et prêt à nous rendre service. Maison et linge de maison très propre. Nettoyage prévu durant le séjour ainsi que le remplacement des serviettes et des serviettes de plage. L’hôte tient une taverne à proximité de la maison où l’on mange vraiment très bien (et avec une plaine de jeux pour les enfants). Voiture indispensable pour les déplacements. La villa se situe à 10 min de plusieurs plages. Très chouette séjour, nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances!

Great space but bad welcome due to damp

For the first three days in the property, our vacation was made very difficult because of the smell of damp, which was so bad that my wife wanted to leave and stay somewhere else on our first day of being in the property. It spoiled the beginning of our holiday. The fact that the property had not been opened and that it was damp inside for a long time meant that, even though we had all the windows open, candles and air fresheners, and that we left the property for a long time during the days to let it air out, it was still a terrible smell of damp and very upsetting. This is not what you want to be encountering on the first days of a vacation that you’ve been waiting for and looking forward to for three months. It made the kitchen unbearable so we did not cook for those days. Every time we opened the drawers under or around the sink for utensils to cook with, we were met with the same horrible smell of damp so we moved the cutlery and spoons and things needed to the other cabinets to stop as having to open those drawers. If this were my property I would feel bad to put the people renting from me in this position and I would offer some kind of compensation to offset the distaste, inconvenience and disappointment which spoiled the first 3 days of our holiday. This did not happen even after I bought up the point to the owners after the holiday. In retrospect, all this property needed was for the owners to open the doors a week ahead and to check the interior to make sure

Das Haus hat eine sehr schöne Aussicht, man kann die Berge und von der Ferne den Anblick des Meeres geniessen. Was mich entäuscht hat war die Beschreibung des Hauses. Sie hat leider nichts mit der Realität des Hauses zu tun. Sauna und Kamin habe ich nicht gefunden, obwohl ich mich darauf gefreut hatte.

Nice villa for South Crete

The villa met our expectations as our priorities were to have sea/mountain views (it has both), quiet neighborhood, and a spacious property for our group (at least 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms). Communication with the owner was pretty good. We had to ask for hot water to be turned on, but this may be common on Crete. There are some broken/worn out items that could be replaced/repaired (pots/pans, washing machine), but overall we don’t have any real complaints. The owner did leave us a very nice meal for our late arrival. We also enjoyed their Taverna down the street. It was a bit cold for the pool, so we only tried that once (which was when we noticed we didn’t have hot water!). But again, location, value fir the money, and the views were all outstanding.

Sehr nette Gastgeber und schönes Haus

Das Haus liegt in der Nähe der Taverne Despina, wo es leckeres und preiswertes Essen gibt bei den Gastgebern des Mietshauses. Ausgesprochen freundlicher Familienbetrieb! Das Haus hat im Erdgeschoss zwei Zimmer mit Doppelbett; in einem davon befindet sich ein WC, ein Waschbecken sowie eine Sauna-/Massageduschkabine. Im EG ist auch das Badezimmer mit Badewanne / Dusche in Kombination. Weiterhin gibt es zwei Dreibettzimmer. Im OG findet sich ein kleines Duschbad sowie die Küche und das Wohnzimmer (alles offen gehalten). Hier kann man wohl die Couch zur Schlafcouch umbauen, was wir zu acht aber nicht benötigt haben. An die Terrasse schließt ein Pool an und es gibt einen Aussengrill und zahlreiche Gartenmöbel. Auch der große Balkon mit Meerblick im 1. OG ist mit einem Tisch und Gartenstühlen ausgestattet, so dass man drinnen und draußen gemütlich essen und entspannen kann - immer mit Blick auf das klare Meer. Wir haben den Urlaub auf Kreta sehr genossen und auch mehrfach die Altstadt von Rethymno besucht. Vor allem abends ist es dort in den engen Gassen sehr schön. Danke an die netten Gastgeber für diesen schönen Urlaub !

Nice house with great view

Thank you for having us at the Villa Despina! We had a pleasant stay with the stunning view and good amenities. The only downside for us was that there is construction currently going on behind the house that woke up the people sleeping in the rooms in the back. Other than that, the host was really responsive and stopped by every two days to clean the pool and we got fresh towels and linens upon request.

Tolles Haus für die ganze Familie

Wir waren mit insgesamt 10 Personen (7 Erwachsene, 3 Kinder) zu Gast in der Villa Despina 2. Die Aussicht ist atemberaubend schön, die Lage oberhalb von Plakias ein guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Unternehmungen. Das Haus bietet im Erdgeschoss vier Schlafzimmer, zwei davon mit Doppelbett, zwei mit Doppelbett und Einzelbett. Je ein Doppel- / 3-Personen Zimmer geht zur Rückseite des Hauses, je ein Doppel- / 3- Personen Zimmer geht zur Vorderseite des Hauses und haben direkten Zugang zu Terrasse und Pool. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es zudem ein gemeinsames Badezimmer mit Toilette, Badewanne und Waschmaschine. Eines der 3-Personen Zimmer hat eine eigene Toilette und Dusche. Im Obergeschoss ist die Küche mit Essbereich und eine gemütliche Sofaecke mit TV untergebracht. Außerdem eine Toilette und ein großer Balkon mit Tisch und Stühlen. Die Aussicht aus dem Obergeschoss bzw. vom Balkon ist wirklich fantastisch! Vor dem Haus ist Platz für zwei Autos, der große Garten mit Poolbereich, Terrasse, vielen Sonnenliegen ist komplett umzäunt.

Het mooiste uitzicht ooit!

Villa Despina zelf is niet bijzonder , zelfs vrij eenvoudig en niet smaakvol of gezellig ingericht. (Zelfs echt ronduit ongezellig). Ook was het huis vrij minimaal uitgerust. Ik heb oa gevraagd om placemats en soepkommen. Die werden overigens meteen gebracht! Prima servIce. Wij vonden het minder fijn dat de slaapkamers beneden waren en de woonkamer boven , maar alles went. Het zwembad was extreem klein (4 x 5) dus zou als plungepool omschreven moeten worden. Wij vinden dus de prijs//kwaliteit verhouding qua villa niet helemaal goed. Tot zover de mindere aspecten. Het uitzicht van deze villa is namelijk fenomenaal mooi en de omgeving ook!! Ruig, bergachtig , vrij ongerept , met hele mooie baaien/baaitjes. Geweldig ! Het plaatsje Plakia is superleuk en niet te toeristisch . We hebben ook een keer bij de verhuurder in zijn Taverna gegeten (dat is vlakbij). Dus al met al een heerlijke week gehad !

Wohlfühloase

In der Villa haben wir uns aufgrund der ruhigen Lage und der tollen Aussicht sofort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Kontaktaufnahme per WhatsApp hat im Vorfeld hervorragend geklappt und bereits am ersten Tag haben wir den sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Eigentümer auch persönlich kennengelernt, der neben dem Ferienhaus mit seiner Familie auch eine Taverne gleichen Namens in der Nähe (ca. 1,5 km) betreibt. Die Karte des Lokals haben wir ausgiebig getestet und schwärmen immer noch von den Stifado-Gerichten. Gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in Plakias vorhanden. Als Ausgangspunkt für unsere Wander- und Sightseeingtouren haben wir ohne zu lange Anfahrtswege sehr schöne Lokationen erkundet… Höhepunkte waren die Schluchten Kourtaliotiko, Preveli, Patsos (Agio Antonios), Myli und (wer körperliche Herausforderung liebt) Platania.

Für alle die Zweisamkeit suchen

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Villa ist gut ausgestattet und bietet eine herrliche Aussicht. Zu dem geniesst man dort seine Ruhe, da ringsum nichts und niemand ist. Restaurants, Shops, Beach, etc ist dennoch in 10 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar.

Etwas kärglich ausgestattete Villa mit grandiosem Blick

Die Villa gehört zu einer Taverne die etwa 500 Meter entfernt liegt. Der Check In ist sehr easy mit dem Empfang in der Taverne. Es sind sehr nette Besitzer. Der Pool ist nicht sehr groß aber tief. Die Schlafzimmer sind groß genug für 10 Personen. Leider sind nur ein Doppelbad und zwei Einzelbäder vorhanden. Wirklich Duschen kann man nur im Doppelbad. Das Bad oben hat zwar eine Dusche aber keinen Vorhang und keine Halterung für die Duschbrause. Leider ist auch kein Staubsauger sowie keine Wäschewanne vorhanden. Insgesamt könnte die Villa besser ausgestattet sein. Für eine Woche aber Ok. Der Preis dafür ist für die Aussicht spitze. Ca. 10 Min vom Strand entfernt. Ein Auto daher ein Muss!!

Everything you need for a fabulous vacation! Clean, spacious, quiet, refreshing pool and amazing views--sunset! Perfect location to explore and hit all the lovely beaches. Owners are helpful and kind. They also have a delicious tavern close by. Our family had a fantastic time! Thank you! ET

Amazing views

Stunning location and views. Communication from property owners was excellent from start to finish. Property in its own remote setting but close enough to nearby villages and Rethymno is just 25 minutes drive. ideally situated for exploring this lovely part of Crete.

Lovely family holiday

We booked this villa for two families. We arrived late but that was no problem with the owners who left the key in the door. The property was spotless and lots of towels were provided. Views were gorgeous. Property was cleaned half way through our week long stay. Owner was always very quick to respond if we communicated with them. Local village had a couple of small supermarkets and a couple of tavernas. Many beaches within a short drive. You definitely need a car if you stay here. We had a great time - thank you Villa Despina.
