"The rooms are out dated, the carpets are very very old. The staff was amazing, very friendly and kind "

"Sehr schönes und sauberes Zimmer mit Direktzugang zum kleinen Pool. Genau perfekt um sich nach einem langen Tag abzukühlen und zu entspannen. Das Zimmer hatte alles, was man gebraucht hat. Wir hätten Frühstück dazu gebucht und das war wirklich fantastisch. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und es gab auch einen kostenlosen abgesicherten Parkplatz."

"Stayed in a self-equipped cottage and enjoyed the proximity to ostrich, elands, notebooks and zebra. Rented mountain bikes (not a great selection for a small woman but found one) and road to the ocean pools. Tough on the washboard roads! Gorgeous coast. Staff were terrific, had to deal with a baboon break-in (hide ALL food) and eager to please. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but had drinks by the fire there as it was chilly and damp. Friends did the marine guided walk and said it was...

"Clean and neat and very peaceful"

"Would stay again! Unique property with so much to offer. We considered adding more days to our stay, didn’t want to leave."

"Most enjoyable stay. Hosts were amazing and very friendly. Evening meal and breakfast top quality. Really enjoyed the tour of the farm, it was the highlight of our holiday. We would highly recommend for a very relaxing stay."

"The staff and Patrick in particular were friendly insightful, and genuinely interested in us having a good stay at their facilities and the balance of the trip. The Location was very convenient. Breakfast was enjoyable. The facilities seemed secure. A very comfortable evening. We would stay here again."

"It was serendipitous that I booked a stay at Mountain View Swellendam as I was looking for a place to stop about 6 hours west from Port Elizabeth. I saw nice pictures, a good rating, and a reasonable price. But WOW! First, incredible hospitality. We were greeted at the gate, shown our secure parking spot, then given a complete tour of our unit and directions around the grounds. Plus a recommendation for a restaurant for dinner that we followed and enjoyed. Also, a staff member stopped by to...

"Excellent stay. Warm and welcoming and beautiful large room with comfortable bed. Large attractive gardens, nice touches like the extra padded seats for our outside seats and fresh fruit from the farm at breakfast. The owner was very helpful with ideas for local visits and was very warm and welcoming. Thank you. "

"We had a lovely two-night stay at this guesthouse. The hosts were welcoming, and the place was comfortable and relaxing. We really enjoyed our time there and would happily stay again!"

"Beautiful, well maintained facilities with incredibly accommodating staff and hosts. It’s a fantastic way to get up close and personal with some of the amazing game and wildlife our country has to offer. Truly an unforgettable experience!"

"Makkelijk te vinden, goede communicatie met hosts en warm welcome, they were friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were very clean and have everything you need, including water cooker for coffee and tea. Secure parking on premises. Very calm and we had an excellent night sleep. Restaurants within walking distance. Just a short drive from Avalon hotsprings. "

"The room was nicely decorated, clean and charcoal was provided for the braai. Amenities, including the tea pot, were good with considerate extras included. The berry store downstairs provided a nice place to taste and purchase farm made jams, relishes and liquers."

"Warm welcome to a lovely self catering unit. Well equipped and very neat and tidy. Johan (owner) provided all necessary info with regards to places to eat etc. Overall an amazing experience. Thank you."

"Nice room and a very pleasant couple of nights - the owner was most helpful in providing advice and guidance of local restaurants and spots to visit. Highly recommended"

"It was a perfect stay and rest. Stay longer and they have many things to do in the area. Hikes, guided tours, cycling, motor bike club and even a Rolls Royce car tour. The host was wonderful and caring, it was a lovely stay Colin from London"
