"I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about our experience. When we arrived, there was no on-site check-in and we had to retrieve our keys from a lockbox. The property is an 1889 house, so we weren’t expecting modern amenities, but the moment we entered, there was an overwhelming smell of cat urine that was so strong it nearly made us leave immediately. While the room itself was somewhat tolerable, it felt damp and there appeared to be possible mold present....

"Customs House in Pictou is a gem. Our room, located on the first floor, was large and well furnished. The king bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was hot and the water pressure was powerful. It is a lovely place to stay on the waterfront."

"The cottage setup is nice and kids friendly. It is two separate bedrooms, much better than hotel two queen beds. The BBQ stove was provided on the deck, even we didn't use it. It is a plus feature."

"Sandy and Cathy are wonderful hosts. Sandy is always ready with a quip and a story. We enjoyed a glass of wine with them on their deck after arriving and a great continental breakfast. The bed was great and the room was quiet. Yes they do NOT have an elevator and the staircase is narrow and “exhilarating “ but the property is beautiful and full of history and wonderful people. We were sorry to say goodbye."

"It was clean and in a great location. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Room was large and beds comfortable. Bathroom was a little outdated but clean. Liked that breakfast area was accessible at all times to grab a cup of tea before bed. Would recommend."

"I absolutely loved this place. We had issues driving and were going to be very late. Well past the 10 pm check in. They were very accommodating and when we arrived at 1 am the key was in the door waiting for us. The host was amazing. At breakfast she had given us some really cool things to do during our stay. Great beach to go to and small neighbouring towns. We will definitely stay there again if we are in PEI again. Loved the garden outside as she leaves it grow out a little for the bees and...
