"Having booked last minute I hadn't realised I had booked an upstairs room as someone who uses crutches this was soon changed to a down stairs room , bed linen all clean, lovely white fluffy towels , toiletries , tea , coffee, milk etc . After a long drive and arriving at 8.30 pm ISH there was still plenty of spaces , yes there is a little noise from the main road but it didn't affect me too much. A continental breakfast was included there was various cereals, jugs of milk and orange juice,...

"Not fancy or upscale but well maintained (especially for being a few hundred years old). Clean and up to date, comfortable bed and good size bathroom. Pub and restaurant serving good reasonably priced food. Staffing and service were excellent. "

The restaurant is closed on Mondays but plenty of other options a short walk away in the high street. I would ahve liked to eat at Candlesticks though becuase the food there was excellent last time.
