"This historic hotel has loads of character and is a marvellous central location. I would suggest that it needs some decorative TLC but my room was large and with 2 huge floor to ceiling windows that looked out onto the main street. Room and ensuite were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I met some of the hospitality staff and they were welcoming and cheerful. I would definitely return."

"We stayed in off season. When we arrived at 4 pm, nobody was there. Another guest let us know the keys were just behind a flower box. Got in, lovely room, clean, with plenty of amenities. Good water pressure. My only wish would be that they provide wash cloths, as well as towel racks or some form of hanging and drying our towels. There not a single hook or rack in the entire room. "Quiet accommodation for good rest after a sports event I spent two nights in The Tavern in Alnwick to participate in a marathon race. The accommodation is in the centre of the town, on top of a pub, but it was very quiet, even though it was a weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful.
