This isn’t a large corporate type motel with expensive lobby, etc., but a friendly welcoming place to spend a day or two. They have coffee and cookies by the front desk during the day and evening, and full breakfast each morning in a pleasant dining area. If you’re a light sleeper, ask for a second story room, because you can hear the upstairs guests walking in their room. San Simeon is not really a town,...

Walking distance from the fair grounds, the front desk was helpful, and overall a decent experience. The room doesn’t have blackout curtains so bring a sleep mask if total darkness is important to you. Didn’t bother us too much, but may bother others."
