Luxury house, great location within the York City walls

Gorgeous one bedroom house situated in the historic Bishophill area of York, just minutes from the centre of York. Large modern lounge/diner with comfortable seating, TV, DVD, PS3 and highspeed fibre wifi. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Upstairs is a bright airy bedroom, with a high quality Silentnight kingsize bed, plenty of storage with vintage furniture and a built in wardrobe. The property is suitable for two adults and two children with extra camp beds/and or a travel cot can be provided on request,
The property is new to the market and has had a complete refurbishment.

Outside is a secure covered yard that is perfect for storing bikes and buggies. On street permit parking is also available on request.

The property is located within the city walls and is a few minutes walk from the city centre with all its attractions, restaurants and shops; it is only 0.6 miles from the railway station so is perfect for those arriving by train. York is a cycle city and the property is perfectly placed as a base for a cycling holiday in Yorkshire with easy access to local cycle routes, avoiding main roads. The house is also a comfortable walking distance (1.1 miles) from the racecourse, shuttle buses also run from the station on race days. The central location means it is also conveniently situated for visiting both of York's universities. Bishopthorpe Road is well known for its range of independent shops and house is just a few minutes walk away for a leisurely breakfast.

The house is just a 5 minute walk from the Shakespeare Rose Theatre that is visiting York this summer.

Great location and comfortable space. Simple but totally adequate. Easy communication with host. Appreciated coffee, tea, milk and biscuits. Especially appreciated the quiet location. Note no AC so in summer, it gets hot in apartment.

Excellent Property & Location

We recently stayed at the Property over a weekend. Location of the key was simple and inside the house was well kept. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. We did have an issue with the Shower but the Owners were extremely responsive and resolved it very quickly. A credit to the service they were providing. The location was extremely good situated extremely close to the City Walls for a quick wander, or if that isn't your thing, then very quick to get into the centre of town. Parking was never an issue and with a community Pub at the end of the street, what else is there to look for!!

Wonderful house

We absolutely had the best stay in this beautiful walk up townhouse. Everything so nice & clean. Lisa is great, she even left little treats in kitchen and glasses and carafe water in the bedroom upstairs.

Decemebr Weekend Visit

Hi read all the previous reviews and hoped they were accurate. Need not have worried Lisa and the place were all spot on. Checking in easy and although the place is small it was perfect for the two of us. Warm and clean and great location for a 10 minute walk into the centre. Milk in the fridge, coffee, tea and biscuits already there. Many thank for the use of the house highly recommended.

Love this place

Everything was great about this apartment. We loved the location as it was easy to find with my sat nav. Our host (Lisa) was an excellent communicator. The bed was very comfortable and the entire apartment was super clean! We would definitely stay here again.

The property was as describe. We were not in the premises very long and did not use any of the appliances. The shower lacks pressure but a minor complaint. A microwave would be a useful addition.

Family break

Great. Prior to booking-owner was very helpful, providing additional information about her property. Location : quiet, easy to find from the station. Enjoyable walk along the walls into the town centre. Facilities: thoughtful! Kitchen/cooking: great having basic cleaning products provided so no need to go out and buy dishwash liquid etc. Welcome pack was enjoyed by all :) Bathroom etc: unusual and welcome bonus of being provided with soap/shampoo.. Entertainment.. plenty to do in York, but noticed there were games etc, should people just want time to chill out! This was a first trial of using homeaway self catering, and certainly a great experience-so much easier to self cater when breaking a long journey.

Great place and great location - family friendly

This apartment had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. It has a well stocked kitchen and comfortable sitting area. The bed was very comfortable. Five minute walk to the river and tourist area.Fifteen minute walk from the train station.

Wonderful situation in lovely city.

York is a lovely, characterful, city with endless things to see and a magnificent part of our heritage. Lisa's property is situated within the old city walls and wonderfully situated to allow seeing all of the sights conveniently by foot - including visiting many by walking around the marvelously preserved city walls. The house/apartment is spotlessly clean, comfortable, equipped with everything that you could need and Lisa has added small but thoughtful touches such as leaving small snacks, milk, tea and coffee for her guests - not to mention things like cling-film to wrap sandwiches. I can not recommend either York or Lisa's accommodation highly enough and hope very much to return there.

Like coming home

Arriving at Lisa's flat was like arriving at the home of a long known friend who had prepared everything just-so for us. Lisa was responsive, helpful, friendly with every detail of our stay, from beginning to end. The flat is perfectly located, clean, well kept. I highly recommend staying here.

Lovely little holiday home

Perfect location

A great house in a perfect location. Everything you need is supplied and it’s the comfiest bed ever! Didn’t need the car all week. Would highly recommend the Bengal brassiere restaurant but you need to book. Would definitely return to this house!!

A gem of a holiday home

We enjoyed a lovely holiday in this fabulous holiday home. It really is a home from home with everything you could need for a wonderful stay. Fabulous location, walking distance to all the major attractions York has to offer. Clean, comfortable and we appreciated the basket of goodies in the kitchen and Easter eggs on our kids’ beds. Lisa, is a wonderful owner who provides a first class holiday home in York.
