The room was basic and very hot. No fan provided, two extra pillows provided but without covers. In addition, one side of bed broken, two beside lamps not working and hotel surrounding is unkempt. Overall, the hotel seems isolated, outside needs more attention and provide the required amenities!

It was just what we needed for 1 night stay, we can see it is being refurb and will look amazing when done, rooms where adequate all newly done. Nice comfy bed, close to places to eat if the restaurant closed. Will we definitely go back again for a longer stay when going to Chelmsford.

The place was very rundown we had no plug in bathroom sink, it was very noisy at night, no hair dryer, only one towel and the room needed decorating. The room wasn't serviced. We had to go and ask for tea bags and milk ect.

This place is a little dated and in dire need of some TLC. A little time or money spent on the grounds could make this place amazing again, starting with the outsides. It is cheap enough to stay and the rooms although a little dated have great flooring all around including the bathrooms. The staff we interacted with were all friendly but they were a little off putting everytime we went past the reception there would be staff hanging around outside which made you feel uncomfortable, it was sunny but to leave you had to walk past them everytime.

Good car parking space, comfortable bed, could maybe do with modernising but overall not a bad stay. 1 downside was there was a bit of noice as it’s just off the A12 and the doors rattled.

The most likeable thing about this hotel is the staff. Lovey people, went out of their way to make me comfortable. The hotel could definitely do with an upgrade though, especially for business travel stays. Brilliant for on site parking.

Rooms was on the small side. 4' 6" bed, but very comfortable. Room didn't have any workable ventalation. All work surfaces paint gloss grey, but were sticky, In the bath room everything worked. But shower didn't drain quickly, so could flood the room. No curtain or blind at window, likewise for the single window at the rear.. Had to get kettle replaced, as it blew the fuses. On Saturday night alot of noise from the occupants of rooms above until 2.30pm. Glad we were only staying 2nights.
