Peaceful Pines Overlooks Mirror Lake

Tucked away on Pickerel Slough, Peaceful Pines is a stunning log home located near spectacular Mirror Lake. Mirror Lake State Park is a 2,179-acre state park featuring a narrow reservoir with steep sandstone sides up to 50 feet tall. Mirror Lake is perfect for hiking, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, picnicking, and swimming. The 3 bedroom 1 bathroom home boasts vaulted ceilings with large windows overlooking the slough and 100-year-old trees. The living room features a gorgeous sandstone wood-burning fireplace for your comfort. Other amenities include WIFI, central heating and A/C, a charcoal grill, a large deck, and a pier going down to the water. Come enjoy the rustic log home and the beauty and peacefulness of Mirror Lake. We provide basic essentials but not items like salt, pepper, oil, or paper towels. Please plan to bring these. The property includes a scenic descent of approximately 70 steps down to the water’s edge, where a private dock awaits—perfect for relaxing or launching a kayak, and fishing though not ideal for swimming.

Very private

The cabin's a bit dated but very private. Everything is exactly as described in the listing. This is beyond sand county's control but the portion of mirror lake that the cabin overlooks is a duckweed covered stagnant branch BUT there is a resident beaver and that is awesome.

The dog fee was removed before you arrived. Again e tried to meet all of our guest expectations. If something is not up to your satisfaction we would try to accommodate you immediately like we did in this situation. A simple direction from us would have told you how to work the thermostat and the wheel could have been put on immediately. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience during your stay.Thank youSand CountyFridayYou have obviously not addressed all of our concerns only the ones you wish to address. There were no directions in the unit as to how to use the thermostat. WE DID NOT RUN THE UNIT IN THE KITCHEN IT DID NOT TURN ON WHEN WE TRIED. The broken steps, the sink plunger which was moldy, the dirty dishes, We were waiting for you to find something else and YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING COMPERABLE!!! WE ASKED FOR A CREDIT FOR SOMETHING LATER IN THE YEAR. So - you did not meet your guests expectations and did not try very hard to address our concerns. These things should have been taken care of BEFORE WE RENTED THE HOME and should be fixed before renting again. We are very disappointed in Sand County.

Peaceful Vacation

My family and I booked this cabin to get away from the stressful everyday routine. We wanted a peaceful time with no worries. We really enjoyed our time here. It was a lot better than we expected. We plan to come back.

Great location and atmosphere for family vacation

The cabin is located above the lake in a very wooded area. Very pretty and quiet. Insider the cabin is very clean and impressive views through vaulted high ceiling looking into the woods. A nice stair path down to the lake. The fire place is great for family gathering at night

Cozy Cabin

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Peaceful Pines. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed. It is very close to the Dells but tucked away in the woods which made for a quiet stay. My boys enjoyed walking down to the lake and I enjoyed sitting on the deck with my morning coffee listening to the birds. It was everything we needed for a relaxing and fun family getaway.

Quiet, private and lovely Cabin.

Everything was really nice. The only disappointment was the condition of the bed sheets. They were old and holes in them and would not stay on. The sheets did not fit the thick mattress and woke us up during the night to put sheet back on the bed. Frustrating.

Lovely wooded oasis

Lovely cabin! Great setting. Could have been a little better stocked (dish towels, kitchen items, etc), and some nice chairs on the beautiful deck would have really added to our experience.

Nice quiet cabin

Perfect, quiet place to relax. Staff was quick to respond when the A/C went out on a hot day to make sure we were comfortable. Would definitely rent again if we are back in the area.

Great place in the woods!

The stay was great. Super close to all the amenities of the dells but felt like a world away. My two boys (ages 9 and 11) loved playing outside and our dog was happy too. You can faintly hear the highway noise, but nothing too loud.
