A stay at this cottage, 1.5 miles from Windermere, offers couples and solo travellers the perfect balance of tranquillity and easy access to the very best of the Lake District National Park. This luxurious hideaway is the ideal base for exploring the Lake District's renowned water spots and towering mountain ranges. Windermere itself is home to England's largest lake and a ferry port from which to soak in its awe-inspiring views and fell backdrop. The lakes of Coniston Water and Esthwaite Water are also within 13 miles. For the avid hikers of the pack, there are plenty of summits to celebrate upon, including Wansfell Pike, Troutbeck Tongue and Ill Bell (all within 9.5 miles), before heading to Ambleside (6 miles) for a pie and a pint beside a classic pub fire. If you have more of a sweet tooth, Grasmere's (10 miles) acclaimed gingerbread is sure to tantalise. Alternatively, head back to your superb bolthole and enjoy a picnic in one of the many sun-dappled meadows.


On walking into this beautiful one-bedroom converted cottage, you will discover a soothing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has been carefully finished with natural textures and tactile fabrics. The inviting lounge area is comfortably arranged around a deep sofa and a TV, while the electric wood burner adds a cosy glow for relaxed evenings in. Close by, the smart, streamlined kitchen runs neatly along the back wall and comes fully equipped for hassle-free self-catering, making it simple to prepare a romantic supper for two to enjoy at the central circular dining table. Continuing through this welcoming retreat, you will find a stylish ground-floor wet room with a shower. Heading up to the first floor, there is a separate WC alongside the generous king-size bedroom, which has been attractively dressed in calm, neutral tones for a soothing night's sleep.


From the living space, French doors open out into the enclosed courtyard garden. This pretty space is ideal for alfresco brunches, unhurried dinners and star-studded nights with a cocktail. There is private parking for one car.
