4WD or AWD needed. Cabin is 1 and 4/10 mile up dirt/gravel road, one lane in places, so not recommended for motorcycles, minivans or 2wd pickups since these have relatively poor traction on dirt/gravel. Views are great near top of the mountain but that means driving uphill to get there.

The road was so bad to the place that I didn’t want to leave and have to make the drive back. Stayed one night and paid for three. The place was clean and okay.

I love my stay at this cabin. The view is breathtaking and peaceful. the inside of the cabin looks way better in person than in the picture, plus everything was clean. Another thing that I love was all the DVD and VCR movies. I will definitely stay here again and recommend 100%.

Million view

Quiet, secluded and living room has a huge window you can just stay in the cabin and not have to fight mosquitoes or suffocating humidity. Although, the sunrise and sunsets were mesmerizing. VIEW VIEW VIEW. Darion was very available. Unfortunately there was a really huge thunderstorm and some trees, not close to me, knocked the transformer onto the ground. No power for almost 12 hours. I decided to leave before the road go treacherous. I told Darion multiple times that it was an act of God no one’s fault. Next morning he refunded me a days rent. That was very kind Darion.

It was exciting to climb that far in a vehicle. Very quiet and secluded. It was my first time renting a 4 wheel drive vehicle . It was well worth the trip. I am a 64 year old female. I changeling others lol.

Great stay and out of this world view. Other people leave bad ratings due to the drive up. I disagree that a bad review should be left for that but it should be noted that it’s a crazy drive up and down. I referenced it to a rollercoaster constantly but that was the ONLY downside. Plus it added to the experience! Super secluded and private. You don’t even have neighbors. Host left plenty of supplies for my partner and I. Overall I can’t imagine leaving a bad review on this place!! Highly recommend!

Great Stay, Gorgeous Views

Great little secluded cabin tucked in the mountains. Fully stocked with everything we needed. Very clean. No WiFi but still good cell signal. Would not advise more than 1 vehicle at this lot. Turnaround space is limited & road angles to get in & out is tight.

Worth every penny for the view

We loved it here and would definitely consider coming back!! We wanted beauty and isolation and this cabin delivered 100%. My only criticisms are 1) the fact that you have to bring your own toilet paper was buried in the fine print somewhere and 2) the bed wasn't made when we arrived and I couldn't find spare sheets anywhere to change it. We had to run back into town (not too far) for tp, napkins and aluminum foil then I did a thorough check of the linens which were ok for us so I didn't bother to call them. Neither of these things ruined our experience, The kitchen was easy to use, the neighbors were quite, and the view was out of this world. If you love nature and you don't sweat the small stuff this cabin is perfect.

Weekend getaway

Such a cute house in a quiet setting. The views were absolutely worth the drive up the road! I have a 4x4 Honda crv and made it up no problem. Definitely advise going up during daylight! The house is well stocked with cookware. No wifi or cable but it wasn’t needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful view

If you want an amazing view, to get away and unplug from the rat race then this is a good place to do it. If you want luxury, amenities and easy access you want to bypass this location. We had a very relaxing time and enjoy the view but the drive up is steep, one lane, gravel and sharp turns. We had a Chevy one ton truck and barely could turn around on up the road. I would say a four wheel drive is very important.

On top of the Smokies

As advertised,the view from the front deck was stunning. We found it interesting how quickly the clouds lift so quickly often resembling chimney smoke. The cabin was clean and the covered deck appreciated when it rained. It is not what you would call plush but it was fine and to our liking. It is a bit of a trek going up and down to town but we brought food so we could stay in when we chose. My Honda CRV did fine on the roads. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Beautiful Views!

Beautiful views of the mountains! Quiet and peaceful! No internet and 2 channels on the tv, just what you need for a romantic getaway and cut out technology! Close to Bryson City and Cherokee! We will be coming back!

The place was exactly as described, the road is rough going up there. We loved it, the only negative thing I could say is the heat is not working. It was very very cold this morning. Otherwise would stay again in a minute.

Great, and not so great

Great view - just as advertised. Not so great: house smells like cat pee when the windows are closed. Both of us are experienced with what cat pee smells like, and it was prevalent. It's not an easy to fix problem in a home we get it. Fixing requires oil based Kilz painting over the affected areas (and every room was affected), pulling up flooring and relaying it, painting the floors underneath with the same oil based Kilz, etc. Our solution was to keep the windows open and fans on, problem solved. We would've done that anyway, so it wasn't a compromise. Just FYI. Loved everything, it is a simple, basic cabin, we spent most of our time on the porch, around a fire outside, or with windows open. The drive up is not as bad as others have posted. Yes, it's steep at the end and loose gravel adds to the traction challenge. My small SUV is front wheel drive (which is not optimal when climbing UP hills, as most of the weight shifts to the rear, non-drive wheels), yet my traction control made it a piece of cake, so there's that.

Loved This Place

I was able to use Google Maps to find the precise location. You drive up a mountain for 5 minutes and you sit above the clouds. Its breath taking and i did not want to leave.

Perfect getaway!!

Everything about the listing was correct and it was perfect! The view is even better in person. We had the best time staying here and exploring the area around Cherokee. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful retreat away from everything.

Dirty and Rundown! Listing has Inaccuracies!

I realize this is a discount cabin, but I still expect a clean space, and accurate listing. You are responsible for hauling out own trash, and paying cleaning fee. I wish I could add photos. Bring your own paper products, garbage bags, citronella products, interior and exterior bug spray, towels, chairs, and pot holders. There is no bathtub, deadbolt, or laundry, despite the listing. You can see daylight along the main door frame. Every light fixture throughout had at least one bulb out, no spares. Deck is filthy. Deck furniture is filthy and rundown. Cheap air fresheners hung throughout, bc it smells bad. The bathroom and bedroom reeked no matter what we did. Towels were all stained and rag-like. Spare towels under bathroom sink were so damp and smelly that they were unusable. Shower had clump of hair, dead bugs, and the door was so dirty. Doorstop broken, and kept finding live wasps. Bedroom lamp is broken. Sheets were either dirty or stained. Bed was comfy. Good selection of dishes and whatnot, but many visibly dirty. The light fixtures were full of both dead and live bugs. Sprayer on sink doesn’t work. Living room furniture dirty and falling apart. When I opened the vertical blinds on the sliding glass door, half of them fell off. Couldn’t open any windows because screens have holes, and bugs get in immediately. Stayed for the view and bc we had things planned. Also, headache to try to get refund, and I just wanted a break from tech and people.

We enjoyed the property and location however didn’t receive check in information until we called the host twice. I had messaged then about 7pm letting them know we were on the way to check in and that we hadn’t yet gotten check in info. We didn’t get a response so I called them when we arrived at about 8-9pm. It added some stress to our trip because service was spotty to non-existent in the national park and we weren’t sure if we would have service upon arrival to get the information. Once i spoke with the host on the phone, we were immediately given the information. Other than that hiccup, it was a lovely little cabin and listed exactly as it is. Very quaint, hidden away, and clean.

Short stay

We were only there for a few hours due to the hot water heater not working. We notified Darion and decided not to wait since it was just a weekend trip. He still notified us a few hours later he had fixed the problem and we were welcome to come back.Unfortunately, we had already left the area. The property was clean and secluded which is exactly what we were hoping for.
