Io villa 2 a little stone castle in Stoupa

  • Io Villa is located 500 meters from the famous beach of Stoupa and 3 km from the little fishing village of Agios Nikolaos. It is amongst olive trees, set 100 meters back from the main road, in a very quiet place literally next to the famous Stoupa yet away from the bustle and hustle.
    Io Villa is a small castle built with local stones, that fit perfectly into the natural surroundings. It consists of a 2-level maisonette which is simply and traditionally furnished. The ground floor includes a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, oven, stove hood vent, kettle water boiler, toaster, washing machine, a living room, storage closets for suitcases, and a spacious covered furnished terrace. In the living room, there is a sofa that converts to a double bed. Amenities include bioclimatic facilities, air conditions on the ground floor and on the upper floor, Wi-Fi Internet, and TV.
    Upstairs, there are two separate bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds and air condition, sharing a balcony with beautiful sea views. In each bedroom, there is a ceiling fan. There is also a bathroom with a bathtub and toilet.
    The villa is surrounded by a small garden, a common (between the 3 Io Villas) ecological swimming pool with salty water, and a private parking lot.
    The freshwater swimming pool (dimensions: 5m x 10m - depth 1,50m) offers sun lounges, furnished, and pergolas for shade. Pool towels are provided.
    The villa offers bed linen, pillows, and towels.
    Breakfast and food are not provided.
    All windows and doors are protected with a mesh.
    A well-stocked supermarket is within 400 meters of distance.

Fabulously relaxing stay

Clean and spacious for just the two of us with fabulous views to the Taygetos Mountains one way and towards the sea from another balcony. The pool was a welcome relief to dip into especially after a little walk to the beach and Stoupa village. We were the only ones there for a while so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Goody, the owner, is welcoming, friendly and easily contactable as was Mary the cleaner (who bought us fresh eggs :-)) Such a lovely relaxing stay and we would love to return to the Villas

Ideal place for a family stay

The property was spotlessly clean, Goody the host very helpful. If you do not have car Stoupa beach and restaurants are within walking distance- do be aware if you have young children that you will need to walk down a road that can be busy at times. The kids loved the pool and we very often had this all to ourselves. A calm, relaxing, happy stay.

A little gem

From booking to leaving we had no issues what so ever. Goody was a great host and communication was fabulous. Goody was always available if needed. The cleaner Marie was very helpful and friendly too. The villa was lovely and the surrounding area beautiful. We made full use of the pool and often had it to ourselves. There are two other villas but you were not aware that other people were staying. Each villa is very private and seating areas are secluded. There are many lovely beaches near by and it is only a short walk into Stoupa it’s self. The only point to consider is that there is no air con in the bedrooms only ceiling fans. I’m sure most of the year this is ok but in August the nights were very hot. There is a bed made up downstairs with the air con which we made use of.

Very nice villa and lovely pool

We stayed as a family ( all adults) in the middle villa. The villa had all that we needed for a week. The balconies were big and the terrace a good size for us all to eat and sit on. The pool area was excellent. We all enjoyed using the pool and as it was salt water, much better than chlorine. For most of the week we had the pool to ourselves which was great. The location was good. A short walk into Stoupa and convenient for the bakery! The villa is simple and clean and the pool well looked after. It was all we needed for a fab time in Stoupa for a week.

Great stay in a lovely property!

We stayed for a week in August and loved staying here. The property really suited us as a family of 5. We loved the pool and found we mainly had it to ourselves. Stoupa is very easy to walk to the beach or bars /restaurants. Goody and Maria are very helpful looking after the property and with any questions!

Entspannter und erholsamer Urlaub mit viel Privatsphäre

Die Wohnung war einfach eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Maria war fast tägl. da und hat gefragt, ob alles okay ist. Handtücher wurden 3 x getauscht, was richtig gut war. Bettwäsche wurde 1 x getauscht. Die Küchenutensilien waren nur sehr sparsam vorhanden, z.B. nur 1 Weinglas und sonst alles 5 x . Ein Geschirrspüler wäre toll gewesen, den hatten wir aber leider nicht. Die Umgebung war sehr schön, nur Nachts haben fast immer Hunde ziemlich laut gebellt und unaufhörlich, dass war etwas nervig 😬. Der künstliche Rasen ist zwar pflegeleicht aber Stilbruch und passte überhaupt gar nicht zu dieser schönen Steinvilla. Goody hat uns am späten Abend unserer Ankunft sehr freundlich empfangen 😃. Wir würden diese Villa weiter empfehlen . Der Pool war sehr groß und meistens waren wir alleine dort,😀 obwohl dieser für 3 Wohneinheiten nutzbar war. Im großen und ganzen waren wir zufrieden mit allem und kommen gerne mal wieder.

Nice and easy

We had a very pleasant stay in Stoupa at Io villas. The house and pool are nice, the location among the olive stress is lovely and the owner is sweet. Good wi-fi connection, even in the pool area. Recommended for an easy holiday for a group of friends or families with kids.
