The property was very clean with large beds and bedrooms which we appreciated. The property was clean and cozy, would recommend!

Walnut Hill

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is beautiful and the location was very convenient. Needs a heavier shower lining to prevent moisture on the floor. We removed the rugs in the kitchen and butlers pantry due to people slipping and tripping. The padding underneath kept bunching up causing the slippage.

Hard to find but once you do it is well worth it - very very private. Big question was which porch or area did we want to sit in - they were all lovely. Beds comfortable. It was a very very nice stay.

The spaces were perfect for my family of seven- cozy without sacrificing privacy. Being so close to West Jefferson downtown was a plus, also. What a great place to stay! It was a little big for our family of 4 but was in an ideal location for us. Close to town but private as well. Can’t wait to come back with friends! We took our street legal UTV and rode everywhere. Even up to VA and a few state parks. We will be coming back with friends and family next time.

Comfy, cozy farmhouse

Stayed at Walnut Hill because we were in town for a friend’s wedding! Location was very convenient for us! Recommend updating the coffee maker, adding signs at the entrance of the home - hard to detect off of E Second Street. House has a bit of a musty smell but overall very comfortable!

Great Fall Trip at Walnut Hill

My family and I had a great time staying at the main house at Walnut Hill. We came in to the area for a fall getaway. The check in and check out process is quick and easy and the rental agency that looks over the house was very responsive and helpful (thanks Missy!). The main house is very beautiful and has large open bedrooms with plenty of storage space in each bedroom. We all enjoyed the comfy beds and everyone loved the coffee room. The view from the front porch and other areas of the yard is great. We had great times around the fire pit on the back side of the house. We all enjoyed seeing the deer in the yard on most mornings and evenings. I hope we can make it back to this area sometime soon and will plan to stay at the Walnut Hill estate again.

A Wedding Weekend

The house was clean and pretty well kept. We did not eat there except for breakfast (2 days). The kitchen was adequate and well equipped. The Kin-bed-room had unfolded sheets and blankets in the closet - ewwww! I was disheartened to find that there were only 2 bathrooms (I had thought there were 3 - I misread), and it was VERY inconvenient that the upstairs bathroom was in the king-bed-room and the other upstairs room tenants needed to come through (our) bedroom to use it - day and night. Another major issue was that a senior family member (age 91) routinely locked the room door after early bedtime - locking other bedroom tenant out with no key to make entry! There was also no light bulb in the stair well making a poorly lit stairs.

Reviewer Comments: Us Floridians, a family of five, plus a couple grandparents, had a great time during a winter storm in January 2022! 10 inches of snow, in a beautiful (and luxurious) 1926 farmhouse, with more room than we needed. we enjoyed every minute of our stay!! We hope to stay again next blockbuster snowstorm as well :). House is well stocked; appliances look to be brand new...we can't find fault with this property honestly! as a bonus, Jennifer was very nice at the management company too...allowing us late check out for our safety- due to 45-55 mph wind gusts blowing and drifting the snow around on the AM we were to leave. A++++
