This house was not exactly what I/we thought it was going to be. It is the actual farmhouse on what is, or was, a working ranch and possibly still lived in by the owners when not rented out. It does feel like you are staying in a real home even though there are numerous items staged to make it feel a little different. We enjoyed our short stay here, it is indeed very tranquil, my sister and I really enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds and cardinals. The only negative was the outside of the house, especially the grounds, which were rather unkempt. There is a section of the roof on the back side of the house that looks like it has storm damage that really needs repairing. The farm is situated in the Richloam Wildlife Management area and most of the lengthy road leading to the farm is dirt but well maintained and smooth. One nice surprise that I did not recall seeing mentioned anywhere was the Richloam General Store, which is an absolute must visit. It is on the way in and a total step back in time with some great goods, candy and history thrown in. A massive thanks to the renters for leaving basic provisions in the fridge. This is something I have not experienced at all before and came in handy for a breakfast. There was also two tubs of banana cream pudding gifted in the fridge, my absolute favorite desert. How special is that!! Worth five stars all day long. Everything worked as it should, beds were great, the house is extremely comfortable.
