Peaceful farm area, on the reservoir, near vineyards

This simply cozy studio looks out upon a hay field visited daily by deer and other wildlife. We let nature take its course here, plants and wildlife run free. The covered patio is a perfect place to relax, unwind and watch the geese land in the reservoir. The kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, tea kettle and coffee machine. This is an open area studio, there is not a separate bedroom. This 4+ acre hay-farm property is bordered on 2 sides by the reservoir. We are within walking distance (about a mile) to two vineyards, and just a few minutes drive to downtown restaurants, shops and Choate campus. The main house is about 25 feet from the studio. No-cost early check-in and late check-out is available much of the time, just ask. Please note, regardless of where you park (on our paved driveway or on the designated grassy area so you are closer to the studio) you will need to walk 40 or so feet across lawn to access the Studio).

Property was well appointed and maintained. Hosts made certain all was ready, clean, and well stocked with the essentials. The setting with the nearby water, trees, wild flowers and wildlife (deer, birds, rabbits, etc) was serene and restful. The nearby wineries are worth the visit and wide variety of restaurants and shopping was a plus.

Quite Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Beth's place. It was very clean and she thought of everything you would need. We enjoyed our walk to the reservoir and we actually saw a deer on the property. If you are yearning for peace and quiet, this is your place. It is in a great location with plenty of places to dine at and central to many activities.

We had a great stay.. the place is adorable, clean and plenty of towels and care products… parking spot on the beautiful, scenic property. Private, safe and away from busy areas. We did meet the hosts .. they were available but invisible which made it feel like a private oasis.

This beautiful little studio is perfect for a couple, looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Wake up to the spacious view of the sunrise behind the meadow and the treelined lake.Clean and comfortable accommodation inside the studio and a spacious covered porch, furnished to enjoy your dinner in the fresh air.A well-furnished kitchen for preparing your meals, and even a decanter with some snacks provided!If you are interested in some local wine, there are two wineries, located a very short distance away.We were delighted with the studio in every way and highly recommend it.

Lovely!

So sweet! We loved our stay even though i didn't relaize there was no stove when we booked. We purchased a burner and made our food. Everything else was wonderful! Very private and beautiful views and lots of sun! easily. They were nice about just no smel

A true hidden gem!!!

Everything about this property makes me smile!!! From the location to the hosts and everything in between, it is just PERFECT!!! This will be the first property I check availability on when we visit the area. It is quaint, clean, nicely appointed and the hosts are wonderful people!

Chaleureux accueil, très propre, très bien située, la maison propose tout confort pour 2 personnes. La venue tous les jours des biches avec leurs faons et de multiples espèces d’oiseaux comblent les photographes amateurs.

Short stay

We had a very quick trip to the Wallingford, CT area. The price was right, the location was perfect and the property was very nice. Quiet, comfortable and relaxing (when we were there). We did see several deer roaming the open field and feeding off the trees. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities were plentiful. Added touches with snacks, teas, honey, etc. Easy communication with our host. Very nice experience.

Beautiful location, gracious host, clean & lovely studio!

This was a great location in a quiet area looking over the reservoir. We saw a few different kinds of birds and also deer, and the morning sunrise from bed was beautiful. The local wineries are a stones throw away and anything else you could want is a quick drive. The host's communication was perfect and the studio unit was immaculate and carefully thought out with everything you could need. The only tiny thing, and might be personal preference, was the water pressure in the shower was very slow. But wouldnt prevent me from staying here again and in fact I'm looking forward to hopefully staying there in the future on my many trips into CT. Thank you again!

Country get-away

This is a lovely property that looks just like the pictures at VRBO. Owners are also very nice and available as needed (although we did not need anything). The studio is impeccable and newly renovated. The bed is very comfortable and towels were top quality. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

Great place for a quick gateaway

As others noted it's a hidden gem that offers privacy and beautiful views of the lake yet has easy access to everything . The surrounding nature, the welcoming hosts, the cleanliness of the place and even snacks that were supplied by the hosts, all made it for a wonderful experience. Beth is a great host, is very responsive and willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests have everything they need. I highly recommend this place and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Lovely cottage, checks all boxes, the owners didn’t miss a thing. kitchen was filled with anything you would need for a quick meal . microwave & air fryer, toaster, coffee maker & utensils, bathroom, all toiletries. The perfect quiet retreat!

This was the perfect space for R and R- off the beaten path, but easy access to the interstate and larger cities. Absolutely beautiful spot near farmland and the reservoir, and I loved the flower gardens. The owners were kind and communicative. Very clean, comfortable studio that I'd highly recommend to anyone going to the area.

Beautiful property

Our stay was great. Beautiful property that offers privacy and lots of nature. Nice outdoor patio. Lots of windows that I love. Perfect set up for 1 to 2 people. The bed was very comfortable. There was nothing that we needed. 10-15 minutes to get to store. Less then 10 minutes to Highway. Definitely would stay again.
