  • Petronia unit A is our top floor vacation home located in Virginia Beach, 3 minute walk from the boardwalk and sand. This home (650 sq. ft.) offers one bedroom, one full bath and sleeps 4 comfortably. As you enter you will notice the vaulted ceiling and tropical décor in the living room that has a pullout sofa bed. The bedroom has one queen bed and the bathroom features a tiled walk-in shower and two sinks. The outfitted gourmet kitchen has stainless appliances, granite countertop and tiled backsplash. Other bonuses include free wireless internet, TVs in each room, bistro table and outdoor porch.

    Located on 34th Street in the Virginia Beach Oceanfront District we are a three-minute walk to the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, entertainment and much more.

    The mindset and goal in developing this community was to offer a comfortable tropical beach themed setting with attention to detail and providing the ultimate in upscale vacation rentals. With 17 homes available, each one has been completely renovated to make your stay welcoming and enjoyable.

Very nice little condo close to beach!

The condo was just as pictured and within walking distance to beach and boardwalk! But a closet to hang clothes would have been nice or at least hooks on back of doors for hanging clothes and towels. Also a community washer and dryer on property would have been so helpful. We stayed a week and this would have been so nice and helpful. But we did enjoy our stay in this cute little pink house!

The property was nice. It wasn't as clean as expected but its a rental property near the beach. It had all of the cooking essentials but due to the limited space, we had limited space for non-perishable food items for a week stay. The pool and common area was very nice and it was a short walk to the broadwalk/beach.One suggestion would be to have a trash/recycle schedule posted somewhere in the unit. It seemed like the cans were always moved and the cans for our unit were in different spots throughout the week but regardless all of the cans were usually always full.

Cute little spot :)

It was a very nice place to stay, simple stuff, but nice. The only complaint I'd make is that the wifi isn't very strong but other than that, excellent place.

A nice way to celebrate our 54th Anniversary! Rating 5 for all!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very enjoyable! Unit was comfortable and adequate for sleeping. Just a suggestion - couch, chairs and rug in living room could be shampooed. Also noticed ants have infiltrated and the use of white vinegar kills them and repels them without chemicals. I left a spray bottle of vinegar glass & surface cleaner for more use. I use this in my home as well. Had a great time!

We loved being able to walk to the beach and restaurants. Nice to have a parking spot. Needs some TLC, otherwise quite comfortable.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Parking was an issue, tree stump and neighbor parking large vehicle made it parking unavailable, Was able to park next door in a building being renovated by the same owner of this building. There was no laundry facility within this rental. Location was fine.

Quaint house with modern amenities

My kids (15 and 12) and I genuinely enjoyed our stay. The house was roomy enough for the 3 of us, the air conditioning worked great (we even turned it up because it was a little too cold). The bathroom had modern double sinks and an enclosed shower. Things I would have liked to know before I rented (although I'm not sure if it would have changed my mind): the fridge is of sufficient size; however, the kitchen is TINY. It's difficult to get food/drinks/ice into the fridge because of it's location and tight quarters. Take paper towels/garbage bags/extra toilet paper with you. We only had one garbage bag and 2 rolls of toilet paper for a 5 night stay. If you plan on cooking, pack a spatula or your favorite cooking utensils. There isn't much, utensil wise and there's no pot holder/oven mit. The bed was a bit hard for my liking but that's just a preference thing; my daughter slept great on it. The house next door is under renovation and looks to be completed soon. We did have roaches (two adults-dead when I found them) and killed two baby roaches during our stay. The house is being treated for bugs but I think the renovation next door is causing some bug displacement. The steps to get up into the house are a bit steep and narrow. I wouldn't recommend the house for elderly or people with knee problems. The house was clean upon arrival and there were plenty of linens for our stay. The walk to the beach was pretty quick although not all cars are happy to stop and let the pedestrians cross. You will have to cross one relatively busy street. The first row street isn't as busy. There are some restaurants/shops nearby that are very walkable. Over all, we had a great time and any minor inconvenience we experienced was tolerable because there's no reason to be stressed out during vacation.

Nice little getaway but listing needs updated

The location of the house is meh, honestly was a little surprised when I pulled up. There’s construction going on at the next house down, which happens I know(they were definitely loud), but our trash can would be nowhere to be found most days. I liked that you could walk to most things, probably the nicest factor of staying here. The apartment is a nice little one, probably more appropriate for a couple. However, the listing say there is a coffee maker. There is no coffee maker, no dish rack, and we were given 5 small towels and washcloths for a week? For 4 people? Overall I enjoyed my stay and made the most of it but having simple things like a coffee maker, dish rack and dish soap would have saved a great deal of hassle.

Walking distance to the beach and several great restaurants. I would say in general the outdoor space looked like it was under construction but we really did not hang out in that part of the property. The owner was super nice and recommended some great restaurants. He was extremely responsive to all my text messages in regards to WiFi. Would highly recommend.

Quickly renovated apt - Beware of eyesore property next door

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Apt is on 2nd floor of house&is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood @2 blocks from the beach. It is part of an ongoing renovation of rental properties. Very clean inside however be advised that inside window frames (we wanted windows open to get nice breezes) are disgustingly filled with crud. We did see a few roaches at night. Gal in charge exterminated promptly and we didn't see any more. This apt is next door to an uninhabited home that is used for a dump while renovations are going on, not to mention all the garbage/recycle cans are located in this area, very smelly and we wondered what critters were roaming around at night. We parked our car in the space there and our car's tire picked up a screw uniquely used for the metal roofing. Luckily we made it home to NJ OK. Looking at the home from street side (34&1/2 st) is not a very welcome sight. They are focusing their renovations on the common courtyard behind the property (eventually with a pool) and despite the apt being newly painted, tiled, pergo floored with new appliances and furniture, upon closer look, it is apparent that it was a quick fix: no cabinet knobs, high hat lighting not finished, floors are not level, deck is in disrepair-not level with rotten wood and loose steps, all trim along floors were not leveled so there are spaces between the floor and woodwork, no closets, no broom, no kitchen towels, no dish drainer (we thought apt would have a dishwasher and washer/dryer - not in this smaller unit we found out) no hooks to hang towels/clothing....Pros: bed was very comfortable, water was hot, towels were plentiful, large TVs. We booked this very quickly to get a change of scenery during the C19 pandemic. Wished I had done more research on other properties in the area. Overall, it was OK but I would not return. Keeping my fingers crossed that I did not bring any infamous Virginia roaches home to NJ.

Much needed getaway

I was so burned out, this was a much needed getaway with no hassle. The walk to the beach was not more than 6 mins. In addition to the stove, microwave and refrigerator on the property, the stores and hotels on the beach provided affordable meal options. Very quiet area. All in all a great getaway for those seeking a hassle free weekend!
