"The property was over priced for what it is , I had called the hotel to ask about adjusting dates due to a family emergency and the front desk person stated she would contact the manager and get back to me but I never heard anything and no mention at check in either ……. The hotel is okay but I would expect better at the rate they charge , they did however give a water bottle at check in but I’d preferred they keep the gift and charge appropriately………"

"Very accommodating to early check in request. A very cosy little cottage just a tiny bit on the small side. Two suitcases - not a lot of space to have them both open. Very clean, great area - peaceful and beautiful grounds - views were lovely. Would def stay there again if in Victoria. Was not able to take advantage of the breakfast unfortunately, but the menu looked delicious!"

"The Wessex Inn is well located on Cowichan Bay and very affordable compared to other properties. We experienced excellent service and found the remodelled room (with a king bed and kitchen facilities) clean and comfortable. The view of the bay from our balcony was a nice bonus. We would definitely stay there again."

"This was our third time staying at this property. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. This Inn does feel like it is a family business: staff take the time to engage in conversations, provide helpful tips and answer a multitude of questions. The rooms are quaint and include small fridge and microwave and bathrobes. You really cannot beat the location and the view. They also provide a very decent breakfast that you can bring to your room if you wish. This has become our go-to place...
