Wooden and straw hut on stilts

La cabane à Paillou : new wooden and straw house on stilts at the foot of the Retord plateau. Valserhone motorway exit 2km away and located 4km from the TGV station. Dominant view of Mont Blanc and the Alps.
The accommodation
In the spirit of a tree house, this self-built building has been set up at the foot of the Cuvery pass in the first hairpin bends among the last houses. From the large terrace in the middle of the trees and birds you can admire the view of Mont Blanc, the Southern Jura and the Aravis chain...
This hut built in raw wood from the Jura and local straw is ecological and shows that it is possible to make a house with a small budget in local materials but with a lot of human energy erased by a great satisfaction.
You will have on site the photos and details of the construction with all the beautiful tricks used.
For the beds you have a bedroom with a double bed, a 1 place mattress which also serves as a sofa and a large mezzanine with 3 possible beds for children (very low ceiling height 70 cm. Be careful I would like to specify that these are extra beds with access by a ladder. I often have remarks from parents who are not used to this type of sleeping which do not seem safe to them. If your children are not resourceful enough or if you feel that it seems risky, you can take the mattresses down into the living room.
We are here in simplicity with natural surroundings. If you are looking for luxury or scrutinizing the little finishing touch that would be missing, refrain ....
towels and sheets are provided for the 2-seater bed.
remember to take your sheets or sleeping bags for the other beds. the 2 large mattresses are 140 and the small ones are 80.
Traveler access
To park on the lot, the best thing to do is to reverse in to park under the stilts.
Above all, do not park in the neighbor's parking lot.
Other remarks
I have accepted pets until the end of 2022. I love our little furry companions but too many hairs remain and I spend too much time refinishing for the following tenants.I will accept pets under conditions this year.
