19th Century Mansion/Farm House

  • Built in 1817 this is one of the oldest estates in Maryland. It has old slave quarters on the property and an 8 hole outhouse along with a summer kitchen that was used for cooking. (both being renovated) It has 7 fireplaces and a great room with bar. A large music room with a circa 1850 box piano. My wife and i were married here last year with over 100 guests. We wish the walls could talk!! month of Sept and August, book a week-end and you can have thursday or sunday free, 2026 only. i can accomodate getting you a pig and slaughter if you want to do a pig roast, you pay, i pick up. if you have a beer brewmaster local we can also do a beer for your event.

This is such a cool place with all the historical elements, not to mention the historic property itself.The house was clean and tidy, we had all the amenities we needed and Mike is an amazing host who was very responsive, communicative and a wealth of knowledge.If you enjoy old buildings/houses and history and happen to need to stay in or near Taneytown, make it your destination. You won't regret it

The host was very friendly and responded quickly to any questions. Everything was clean and the property was very interesting. The location was great just a few minutes from town.

The Host was amazing and so was the house! Mike was extremely welcoming and friendly. Filled us in on the history of this wonderful property. I will absolutely be back and highly recommend this place.

Mike was a great host! Property was neat with lots of history. We were a very large party traveling from Oklahoma and Texas for my sons wedding at Venue Bouchon in Taneytown. The house and bathrooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels and washcloths for our large party. The house and rooms were so big that we didnt feel like we were on top of each other. The men in our party really enjoyed the bar and poker table! Mike was very gracious and allowed us to host the rehearsal dinner at the house, even brought in extra tables and seating to accommodate our guest. Trevanion House was well worth the stay and hosts like Mike are why we keep booking through VRBO. A experience!

3 generation Christmas gathering 2024

Fun place to stay. Very spacious. Especially enjoyed the summer kitchen with its huge fireplace! Mike was an excellent communicator and fun.

My wife and I booked this house the night before and the night of our wedding. Her bridal party stayed the night before and got ready there the day of. She said it was “exactly what they needed” to get ready. The house is beautiful and has a lot of character. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice property

This was a great experience for our family coming in from out of town. A large house with plenty of bedrooms for large family and friends. Beds were comfortable and lots of rooms to hang out in. Very interesting old house with lots of history.

Great place for history buffs

We had a historical themed gals weekend and this place fit the bill perfectly. The building was comfortable and clean and quite magnificent. The owner was very hospitable and easy to communicate with. We had a great time!

Amazing Property

We were having a family trip to experience Gettysburg and DC. Our stay here added to our experience; the history and grandness amazed us all. Michael is a great host! We would highly recommend a stay here and my family has talked about possibly going back again sometime we loved the house so much.

We loved the house and the property. The property host is very nice and easy to communicate with. The house is clean and very charming. The bedrooms are VERY big so lots of space to move around in and spread out. The beds are comfortable. We used the house to host our son’s groomsmen and then to have an after-wedding brunch. Everyone that came to the house loved it and enjoyed exploring it and the property. There’s a a summer kitchen behind the house that the host allowed us to use which was really handy. The host also has cows that he keeps in his barn and our friends were allowed to go up and say hi to :) We had a wonderful week here and we can’t say enough nice things about the house, the property and the kindness of the host.

Our stay at the Mansion

Family here for event. The mansion was the perfect mix of space, informality and comfort. I had people from 5 different families and we were able to visit and still have private time.

This is our second week-long Christmas stay at the Trevanion House. We absolutely love everything about it! What stands out the most is Mike, the host. He goes above & beyond to make sure our stay is special & memorable. He is very accommodating & easy to reach. The house itself is clean, comfortable & welcoming. Well-appointed kitchen AND summer kitchen. We will be back, for sure!

We stayed with extended family for a wedding happening at Venue Bouchon. It was perfect. 4 miles away. It handled all the needs. Mike was awesome strongly recommend to anyone with an eye for history or a group get together

Historic Mansion

We enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious and comfortable. Couple minor suggestions, I would recommend a couple pieces of cook wear ie Pyrex bake wear be added, revamp of outside seating, labeling light switches. No complaints.
