Beautiful Benllech bay on the isle of Anglesey in North Wales. Virtually unchanged in 2017 as it was in 1962 when I used to visit as a child.

Glyn Burial Chamber A Neolithic Tomb similar in construction to that at Lligwy and another possible site in Benllech. The chamber is thought to be constructed by raising the main slab that was already there onto the smaller slab in front, then excavating underneath and inserting support stones on the north and south sides of the excavation. The chamber was excavated in the nineteenth century and it was recorded that bone and other (non-specified) artifacts were found.

Capel Tabernacl Chapel, Llanfair M.E. This is a Calvinistic Methodist chapel. Llanfair M.E. is not a medical condition. It is short for Llanfair-Mathafarn-Eithaf (meaning "St Mary's church in the furthest field of the tavern"). which is the name of the parish in which Benllech is situated. The most famous son of the parish was the 18th century poet and beer-swilling cleric Goronwy Owen who was forced into exile in America by the English Bishop of Bangor http://www.tourbrunswick.org/goronwy_owen.htm

Comfortable stay. Nice sea view room. Only down side was very squeaky floors. Cant really complain for the price. I think all the negative reviews were from when it was called the County hotel.

Charming cottage a stone’s throw from the beach.Excellent hosts and very easy check in and out process.Sea grass restaurant around the corner was definitely worth visiting as was the local distillery.Will definitely book again!
