Seclusion at its best! Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. There is no place quite like it! Surround yourself in nature, sun, trees and flowers in a cozy, custom gingerbread house with all the comforts of home and cabin-like feel. Set among the trees and quiet yet close to town and beaches. The perfect retreat!

This magical five acre property is uniquely located about a mile from the beach in a quiet neighborhood at the end of the road. It sits upon a ridge allowing it to get a good amount of sun, often just out of reach of the coastal fog.

There is an expansive front lawn surrounded by large redwoods, Douglas fir trees, and alders that provide privacy to the space.

There is a large, working, dahlia filled flower garden tended by the property owner, adding a gorgeous colorful view from the upstairs balcony or the kitchen window, when plants are in bloom. Guests are welcome to walk in the garden and enjoy all the colors and even pick a raspberry or two or an apple from the trees in the orchard.

The home is fully stocked with all your kitchen tool needs and many basic pantry items. It’s the perfect place to create family meals and picnics outside using the bbq and picnic table provided.

Enjoy a great night sleep on the very comfy Saatva mattresses and Brooklinen sheets with down comforters and Pendleton blankets for those chilly coastal nights.

Make a bonfire and relax in the comfy Adirondack chairs and view the stars at night or cozy up by the wood stove inside and choose a book from the many on the shelves.

Take advantage of the record collection and Bluetooth speakers to create the perfect mood!

Enjoy a hot, luxurious bath in the oversized clawfoot tub while gazing up at the trees and sky……bath suds are provided!

Enjoy the newest addition of a private hot tub to soothe sore muscles from the days activities and take in the night sky and Milky Way. You may even hear the hoot of an owl at night!

Take a stroll on the local beaches and explore this gorgeous stretch of coastline or meander through the nearby giant redwood forests and get lost in time. Heather is more than happy to share her knowledge of great hikes and places to explore!

This is the perfect place to enjoy some country living while still being close to local restaurants and shops.

The house was a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful setting and stocked with so many lovely personal touches by the Owner. Kitchen had everything anyone would need. It was clean and organized. The house was cozy, bright and very comfortable. It was nice having a hot tub and outdoor shower. I hope I have the opportunity to stay there again.

Overall such a lovely experience at this house. As soon as we drove up we knew this was the right place for us. The only change I would have made to our trip was to spend more time at the house, cooking meals and enjoying the space inside and out. We will always remember our time here, as one of the best trips we’ve taken. This was hands down the best house rental I’ve ever stayed at and I hope to be back!

Private woodland oasis

The property was right out of a fantasy. Check in was a breeze, the navigation instructions were easy to follow. The place was clean and well stocked with everything we could need. We used the Bluetooth enabled record player, lit a cozy wood fire after coming in from the hot tub. We toured the flower farm, played trivial pursuit, reviewed brochures for future daytime adventures. We started the mornings with existing coffee and fresh food from a local farmstand, cooked with all the kitchen implements we could need. Many little details were cozy and thoughtful. It was the perfect place to transport us into someone else's life for a long weekend. Trip of a lifetime, exceeded my expectations.

This home was such a wonderful stay. Super clean, private, and tucked away on a picturesque property. Heather was quick and responsive when we had questions. The home is as idyllic as the pictures show. The kitchen has everything you need and more. The beds are comfortable and cozy, and the house has a tankless water heater so no worries about a cold shower. We loved exploring Trinidad and seeing the Redwoods.

Magical getaway

Absolutely adored this home! Communication is amazing. It’s not super kid friendly but easy to move things for younger kids under 5 that may pull things out etc. I’d say ideally best for older kids if bringing a family. The only thing I’d change is the window coverings. There isn’t much privacy or ability to sleep in as soon as the sun is up it’s bright and not much privacy with lace curtains for bathroom. So if you don’t mind those things. Otherwise it’s great!

Nice quiet stay by redwoods

A cute restored farmhouse in the country, about ten minutes from highway 101 and less than 20 minutes from the Eureka/Arcata airport. Heather was very good about responding to my messages quickly, and has a nicely stocked rental. She lives just down the driveway, but gave us privacy while we were there for our six day vacation. She has brochures about things to do, and many suggestions in the welcome binder. It was a great place for us to stay as we explored the redwood parks and oceanside trails.

Quiet and peaceful escape with a beautiful flower garden

We chose this property based on it's proximity to Redwood National & State Parks. We wanted something quiet and serene to come home to after a long day of hiking. We also wanted to be close to restaurants and shopping. We found the perfect place! Heather was great to work with and her description of this place was spot on. The kitchen was fully stocked for any cooking you may wish to do. There were plenty of linens and towels. The beds were super comfy with numerous pillows. Her flower garden was amazing! Trinidad was close and convenient with a grocery store, restaurants and shops. Be sure to visit the Trinidad beach at sunset. You will not be disappointed should you chose to stay here!

Relaxing and quiet

Perfect end to our stay in California. This location is convenient to everything Northern California has to offer. This VRBO has everything you need and more in an idealistic setting. We all enjoyed our stay. Only suggestion is mattress toppers for the bed as we found them to be a little hard. Highly recommend.
