Tucked away between Buckhorn, Bobcaygeon and Haliburton, Green’s Lake offers 34 hectares of lake swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing and skating (in the winter). Only 2 hours from Toronto, this lakefront four-bedroom home with walk-outs from the upper deck and lower level provides you with private and direct access from both levels to a myriad of outdoor amenities that the entire family can enjoy. From the lower deck hot tub, children’s playground to the firepit lounge overlooking the sandy beach area - a perfect place to make lasting family memories. Spend the day relaxing on the dock, fishing, swimming, canoeing/kayaking and playing outdoor games like basketball on the driveway court, or soccer, catch, football in the backyard. In the winter, the lake freezes over and provides the opportunity to skate or play hockey. Spend the night barbequing and dipping in the hot tub overlooking the sunset and bonding with your family around the campfire. The lower level also offers a games room with a professional pool table and foosball table for added fun. There's also an arcade, basketball shooting game, board games, kids games, toys, books and much more for kids at every age.

Huge disappointment.

We stayed with our two adult children, their spouses and our 3 grandchildren. This is annual event for us and our first time in this area. Our excitement was tempered as soon as we started down the stairs to the cottage, dodging a 2 foot long piece of rusty rebar that jutted into the walkway. Several steps were treacherous with wooden risers uneven with the concrete or pulling away from the concrete creating trip hazards and deep splits to catch toes. The top of one step was so rotted it was crumbling. Throughout the house and property we encountered many more safety issues. The railing on the second storey deck wobbled. The bottoms of the slides were covered with disintegrating duct tape revealing sharp edges that grazed the skin of our grandchildren. There was a four foot long hole in the dock where a board had rotted out. The kids looked forward to playing the indoor netgame of basketball as shown in a picture but it wasn’t there. They did enjoy the fussball but the adults could not play pool because one ball was missing and the banks were warped so bank shots were unpredictable. Those lovely sofas in the livingroom were peeling and had lost any firmness. The kayaks, canoe and beach chairs were great. The cottage had 2 bedrooms in the lower level, nicely furnished but it was so damp that clothing left on the floor overnight were wet in the morning. A two star place charging a 5 star price. This property is worn out and has many safety concerns.

Fabulous for young families

This was such a wonderful property and experience. The beachfront is perfect, sandy beach for the kids, a lovely dock, fire pit area, covered seating area, jungle, gym, and plenty of grass for running around. There was lots of room inside, four full bedrooms, one with two sets of bunkbeds. The kitchen was well stocked, furniture was very comfortable, great mattresses. The home felt very comfortable and like it has really been lived in, making it very comfortable for having young kids, it didn’t feel like everything was fresh out of a box and about to break, but rather good quality and has stood the test of time. The owners were easy to communicate with, responsive and kind. We are already looking to book another week! We went with three young kids and could easily have had another entire family with us.

Probably a better summer destination.

Pros: Pretty area, kids activities, large home, hot tub, well stocked kitchen.Cons: No winter maintenance provided meaning driveway isn't accessible and no snow removal down the steep steps and slippery slope to the home. Snow was 3-4 feet deep and parking was on a very narrow, but plowed, dead end fire route at the top of the hill about 60' up. It would be difficult for emergency vehicles to access in winter and it's difficult to turn your vehicle around. Also no warm bedding available for a winter stay and we weren't warned of this until after we were on our way. We slept in our warm clothes. Host did not message us with this info or instructions until after 4.30pm when we were already driving there. Several house repairs needed including a dishwasher that had no power, no propane for the BBQ and Christmas decorations needed to be taken down. We don't need fancy but expect it to be as advertised.In summary the grand kids had fun and the adults made the most of the situation. We shoveled a lot of snow to make it safer but I feel we shouldn't have had to do that when you pay to stay somewhere so that was disappointing and stressful to deal with arriving after dark with little kids and all our gear.

5 Day Stay

Beautiful location, lots of water activities. If there was one problem, we had no WiFi the entire 5 days, with 3 small children this was a major problem. It would have been nice to have TV, to occupy the children while we were preparing meals and also down time for them.

Great place

our stay was peaceful and relaxing, our son had plenty to do as he was fishing and kayaking. When it rained a little there was plenty to do indoors. When needed, the hosts were quick to respond and help. We will definitely look to book again

Thanksgiving Weekend Stay

We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving weekend stay here. There was so much to do and the scenery is just beautiful! Lots of toys and activities for the little ones that were with us. Definitely would book this property again in the future. Would love to try the summer months.

Everything you need, and more!

We spent this past weekend at GoodLuckSunset and We had the best time! The cottage is exactly as described and had so much to keep the kids(and adults) entertained, while also providing all the cozy comforts needed for fall weather. We had one question during our stay and the host was so quick to get back to us, and all interactions prior and during our stay were lovely. Showers had warm water, temperature of cottage was perfect as well. There were also smaller heaters if we needed them(even though we didn’t even up using them, it was good to know they were available to us. Cannot wait to book this cottage again next year 🙂

Amazing experience!

Everything was amazing. My family and I had a wonderful week from start to finish. The property was clean and organized. such a charming place. The lake is quiet and so peaceful I could have sat on the dock 24/7. The play area for the kids was awesome and kept them occupied. The sandy area was a nice touch and the entrance to the water was clean and shallow which was perfect for the kids. We spent hours every night playing Pool and all the games that were there for us. Super accessible as well and easy to find. My family and I had such a great time we will be booking and returning again next year!

“AC” ? Not really

For the most part, the place was ok. Luckily for us it wasn’t very hot as there is a portable ac unit in the dining room and no where else (bedrooms, downstairs very hot). So it was uncomfortable to stay inside during the day with the little ones for their naps. The only other issue was what appeared to be a hardwired carbon monoxide detector in the hallway that had a broken cover. My son said he got a bit of a shock from it when trying to put the cover on. So had to ensure the toddlers do not go near it as it was hardwired in a plug near the floor. Should definitely let people know in the description that there really isn’t any AC, as the one provided was useless and only cooling the dining/kitchen area. Other than that, was again just “ok”

Unsatisfactory!!

This trip was a celebration of my husband’s birthday/retirement. We had both or children and their families (6 Adults and 5 children) with us. On arrival to the place it was filthy and we had to clean every ceiling fan just to be able to safely run them due to large amounts of hanging dust. The cushions on the furniture were filled with garbage between them. The excuse that the housekeepers couldn’t do a proper job by the owner is because we had made arrangements to arrive to the property early but we’re to stay outside the house until they were completed the job. We were completely fine with waiting as long as was necessary, even until check in time. A day into the trip the on call water tank stopped functioning properly and the. The basement toilet started leaking. Both of the problems were due to neglectful care of the appliances and they had to get a plumber in to descale the hot water tank and tighten all the fittings on the toilet. The plumber wasn’t able to come until our last day. We had to survive with constantly restarting the hot water tank to be able to use hot water for washing dishes or getting a shower/bathe children and had to close off the bathroom with the toilet water all over the floor. The owner offered 100$ refund for the inconvenience. What a joke. Highly recommend not renting this unit. Not worth the money. The place is terrible. The location is the only thing it has going for it!

This property checked all of the boxes for our family!

Just enough space for us! Indoor, outdoor and water activites meant no one was bored! This is a great lakefront property to enjoy with a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
