We have hired villas many times on Costa del Sol but Casa Joya was definitely the best. The villa itself had everything we could have wanted and was in beautiful condition. The pool was excellent and a good size for a swim. The additional advantage is the location. About 45 mins from Malaga airport and only around 15 mins to the sea. What could be better? Peace and tranquility around the pool with great views and easy to go to the sea if you feel the need. Reaching the villa was quite straight forward and the drive was similar to other rural villas we have visited. In the hills you should expect narrow windy roads and we had no problems even at night. Uta, the owner was easy to contact which made us feel even more relaxed. I would very highly recommend this villa.

We have spent restful holidays : the villa is nice and confortable, the kitchen fully equipped, the surrounding are quiet, the pool is perfect and the view lovely. But there are some points to note : there is a nice dog (barkling some nights) into the villa in the garden except at weekends but we have to water it, and that was disturbing especially because pets were not allowed and we had to pay expensive charges to keep our own dog in France... The last 10 minutes driving path to arrive at the villa is frightening : mind your car !, but we get used to it, at last. The garden needs refreshment and care.The biggest bathroom has a shower without shower curtain nor screen the floor is entirely wet and that is unsafe and dangerous with electric devices. The drains of all showers are very bad. To get hot water the water broiler is erratic, a solar water heating system would be more appropriate. Sun umbrellas are old and some lounge chairs too. The person in charge of the villa was attentive and helpful.

Endroit paisible avec vue splendide

L'endroit est un havre de paix avec vue splendide. La piscine est très agréable et la terrasse tres bien équipée confortable est indispensable. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Les éléments de confort pourraient cependant être amélioré: les robinets qui eclaboussent, les douches sans protection s'innondent vite, les poeles sont trop vieilles pour être utilisées et la literie de la chambre à 2 lits est à changer ( il a fallu combler les creux du matelas avec des coussins). Attention pour les personnes peu à l'aise avec la conduite, l'accès peut paraitre très difficile.

Nice and private.

We stayed for 2 weeks in August 24, our party was 4 adults ranging from mid 40s to mid 70s. We chose this villa because we need somewhere without stairs and has a great view, and this didn’t disappoint on either. Whilst we were there the temperature was in the late 30 deg C and the air conditioning was an absolute delight, but it is only in the main room and the master bedroom, the second bedroom would have been more pleasant if it had it as well, a small fan was provided but we had to buy an additional large fan to try and cope with the heat. The pool was lovely and very private. The drive up to the villa is challenging and you need to be a confident driver. A great holiday had by all

Unser Urlaub in der Casa Joya

Insgesamt hatten wir einen schönen Aufenthalt. Kleine Abstriche müssen wir leider bezüglich der Sauberkeit des Objektes (insbesondere im Küchenbereich) machen. Die Bettmatratzen sollten ausserdem dringend erneuert werden. Da das Haus in einer ländlichen Gegend liegt, sollte man Tiere und deren Besuche mögen 😊.

Lovely relaxing stay

We had a great holiday at Casa Joya. It was a bit of a steep climb in the car getting there but it was worth it as it was so tranquil and relaxing. The villa itself had everything we wanted and if we had any questions or queries, the property managers replied in minutes and were so helpful. Myself, my husband and my two kids had a magical holiday, playing pool volleyball and also card games on the roof terrace until the sun set. Perfect. If only we could’ve brought the sunshine back to U.K. 😃

Alles in allem war die Unterkunft in Ordnung. Wir hatten einen schönen Urlaub, vielen Dank dafür! Spiker hat regelmäßig nach dem Objekt gesehen und war sehr hilfsbereit. Die Küchenausstattung, vor allem für den Herd sollte mal wieder erneuert und erweitert werden. Wir waren nur zu zweit, aber die Töpfe und Pfannen wären für 4 Personen zu wenig und zu klein. Bei der Bewertung der Lage haben wir einen Stern abgezogen, weil bei unserem Aufenthalt das Haus unterhalb seine Terrasse renoviert hat - mit dem Bohrhammer. Das war leider nicht so schön!

Relaxing holiday

Beautiful well equipped villa with fantastic views set in a peaceful location. The pool is a good size, very clean and well managed. Plenty of hot water for the showers, well equipped kitchen with lots of utensils, WiFi and freeview tv worked great. Car is required for the villa with plenty of parking space. A very enjoyable holiday.

Lovely villa to chill out and relax.

Villa was just right for us. Views were amazing and loved the location. Road to villa would be a challenge to unconfident driver. But we found the drive fine. Villa had everything you needed for your stay, very well equipped. If you want peace and quiet, with great outdoor space and pool. Loved the villa and will be back again.

Tired

Had a lovely relaxing week, views were great, however property was tired and is in need of tlc. Bedroom fan and fridge were dirty, fridge could of been the last rental but the fan hadn’t been cleaned for months, we dare not use it as it would of been snowing inside! Hot water for the showers was non existent, luckily it was hot so cold showers were refreshing. Outside chairs were great to sit and have a coffee in the mornings or a drink or two in the evening and the fairy lights were a nice touch. Spent most of the week outside using the pool which was great but again the shower was very dirty and everything needed a good sweep. It wouldn’t take much to get it back to how it looks in the photos, repairing broken tiles around the pool and a good tidy up. Nothing was a major issue and as we were only there for a week we made the most of relaxing in the sun and going out. The local square was lovely and well worth a visit, Gareth’s bar / cafe is excellent.

Review of Casa Joya

Very good accommodation. Good views over the valley. Pool very good. Relaxing atmosphere. Directions to the property were good. Single track road was an adventure with steep drops in one or two places but easily navigable (recommend to hire an automatic or hybrid vehicle). Two neighbors dogs could get into the grounds, no mess and they were compliant when shown the gate. With 2 young children not use to dogs we stopped their access perhaps the perimeter fence could be improved. Property description was accurate. I can recommend the property

Peaceful location

We’ve just had an eleven night stay at Casa Joya in the mountains. The views and the pool are worth going back for. A relaxing stay in a quiet location with all your needs catered for with amenities a short drive away. The drive through the village and up the mountains is ‘interesting’ but we’ve stayed in Frigliana mountains so we knew what to expect. All completely doable but might test a new/nervous driver. Nerja and Frigliana are both a short drive away and many beaches/coves around to explore. A relaxed and chilled holiday enjoyed by us both.

Geen villa, maar gedateerde woning.

De casa was absoluut geen villa zoals in de beschrijving staat. Het was absoluut niet schoon en er zijn nogal wat (kleine) gebreken. Vieze slechte pannen, slechte kwaliteit bedden, geen afscheiding bij de douches waardoor alles er om heen kleddernat werd. Bovendien was de grote douche spekglad wat nogal gevaarlijk is. Bovendien lopen er zwerfhonden op het terrein die steeds weer terugkomen. Dus als je bang of allergisch bent of als je gewoon niet van honden houdt heb je een probleem. Wij hebben er het beste van gemaakt mede door de rust en het prachtige uitzicht is het toch een geslaagde vakantie geweest.

Es ist noch Luft nach oben

Die Lage des Objekts ist traumhaft und der Blick grandios. Schade, dass das herrliche Objekt in die Jahre gekommen ist und einiges saniert werden sollte. Duschen ohne Abtrennung, durchgelegene Poolliegen und brettharte Matratzen sind kein großer Aufwand würden das Objekt aber stark aufwerten. Alles in allem ist es für uns trotzdem ein super Urlaub gewesen.

Tranquility and wonderful views

We had a very enjoyable stay at this rural villa, everything was as described. The veranda was especially useful when the sun got a little intense at lunchtime. Lovely breezes kept our stay very comfortable and the pool was excellent.

A wonderful place to get away from the stresses of life.

My family had a wonderful 10 day stay. We have stayed in the Nerja / Frigiliana / Torrox area around 12 times and this was up there with the best of them. It was lovely and relaxing yet close enough to drive to the local amenities, in Torrox. The final approach to the villa is a little interested if you are not good with heights or a nervous driver, but you soon get used to it.

Great Place

Excellent House, just as described and just as beautiful as the pictures. No complaints at all. Very nice large and clean pool, godd outside areas. The road up to the house is a bit narrow, but you get used to it.

Beautiful Rural Setting

A beautiful rural property. Casa Joya is a joy to stay in. Communication and support was great. The villa is comfortable and spacious. It is really well equipped. The outdoor pool area is perfect for a lovely relaxing holiday. The only downside is the getting in and out of the property. If you are a nervous driver, this is not the property for you. If you want a relaxing stay with beautiful views, then this is it. Excellent directions to find the property.
