A little “PEACE” of heaven.

This little cottage has absolutely everything you need for some good R&R with nature. Bill is a top notch host/manager. I would absolutely recommend to friends or family. Loved our stay!

Love the house and the waterfront access!

We had a great visit and enjoyed all this homeowner has done to make the visit so nice. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the outdoor spaces were amazing! The deck is expensive and has many seating options, the dock was great for fishing and water access, and the sunroom was just a lovely spot for coffee, dinner, card games etc.

Beautiful spot on the water

We loved our stay here. It’s a gorgeous waterfront home with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. We especially loved being able to use the kayaks. The house is clean and well stocked, including all the kitchen essentials. We would definitely stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. By far, one of the nicest features of this house is the deck. Beautiful views of Meachim Creek. Perfect for sipping coffee and enjoying some wine!! The layout of the house is easy and spacious. We would definitely come back. Communication with the owner was quick and easy.

I should of booked a longer stay.

It was my first time in Virginia and I'll definitely be visiting again and if this property is available, I will choose it again. Beautiful house looking over the lake. Very nice getaway vacation. Amazing host good communication, all-around, great experience.

Relaxing time on the water

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy, clean cottage. The deck and dock allowed us to really enjoy our time on the water. The host called in advance to make sure we had everything we needed.

Just what we needed

Perfect way to end the school year! We were there to go to Busch Gardens one day, but we left the park early just so we could spend more time at the house. Quiet, secluded feeling. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, sitting on the dock and just enjoying the peaceful water.

Great Memorial Day Weekend!

Great place to unwind, relax, spend quality with the family. Bill’s “Rivah house” was clean and has all the essentials we needed for a great weekend. Enjoyed hanging out on the deck, fishing and crabbing on the dock, and kayaking! Bill is great host and communicated with us early, Hope to come back soon!

We had a wonderful stay here for our 17th annual girls’ weekend! The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the views were stunning! We spent a day in downtown Kilmarnock: lunch at Donna’s on Main, pedicures at LE Nails, and shopping on Main Street. For ultimate relaxation, we enjoyed a Group Sound Bowl Healing Session at Motion Studios. Back in Topping, we had fantastic dinner and drinks at Merrior’s overlooking the water. (Thank you Bill for the perfect recommendation!) This was an ideal setting for our annual tradition and we’d happily stay here again for future gatherings!

Peacefulness

We spend a week in the property. We really enjoyed it. The views from the deck are memorable. Bill is a great host very easy to get in touch with for any needs, The cabin is very nice and clean. My kids had fun kayaking on the evenings while we prepare dinner on the grill. Thanks again Bill. .

Perfect place to stay or go see surrounding area

We started with family and ended just the two of us. Quick stay. Regretted had to leave. The cottage was perfect size inside and the deck gave us extra space to enjoy talking, eating and bird watching. Much time spent here when not out running around. All the time relaxing. Centrally located to many places to sight see and eat within about 15-20 minute drive. Played golf nearby. Piankatank River Golf Course. Plan to go back. The cottage on the river was clean, well-stocked, and in a great location. We enjoyed fishing, crabbing, shopping in Kilmarnock, and using the boathouse for my father’s boat, who lives just a short drive away in Urbanna, Virginia. However, the host’s constant oversight made it hard to relax. Our pet had strict limitations, the AC was remotely controlled by the owner and left the house uncomfortably warm most days. There were also exterior cameras monitored by the host and in-person drive-by’s from his local friends that felt intrusive. Thankfully, the weather was mild—if it had been hotter, we would have left early due to the smoldering heat inside.Beautiful spot, but privacy and comfort were compromised by the owner’s constant monitoring.
