  • Welcome to Beaver's cabin at the House of Beaver. Nestled one block off Main Street in Talkeetna, this historic log cabin is a convenient and cozy retreat for guests looking to enjoy all downtown has to offer. We are within walking distance to the confluence of the Susitna, Talkeetna and Chulitna Rivers for a spectacular view of Denali as well as all the restaurants and boutique shops in town. With 1 queen bed and 3 twin beds this cabin is the perfect space for a small group. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishware, cookware, a Keurig, microwave, toaster, four-burner stove and full size refrigerator for guest use. Coffee and teas are provided. The quaint living room is the perfect spot to gather the family, visit, play a game or have a beverage. The bathroom has a shower with soap, shampoo, conditioner and linens provided. Beaver's gives your family an authentic Alaskan cabin experience. Kickback, relax and enjoy all that is Talkeetna!

This is a great little cabin. Tons of personality and history. Our family of five really enjoyed staying here. It's right in the middle of town for a quick walk to restaurants and the river.

I do believe they need to get a Ozone machine and run it in the cabin for a day- the musty smell and dampness was so bad, that leaving windows open only made it worst- I love old cabins but it doesn’t need to come with an old smell especially beings half of the cabin is newer and an add on- But it’s big, has great potential- washer and dryer available- 2 bedrooms-loved the old pictures of the original owner

This cabin is a block from then main street in Talkeetna. Basically everything is walkable. Its very safe, and clean. The owner's parent of the house grew up in house so it has awesome history, filled fill books about the history of the town and animals around. It was a great stay... the property manager however didn't communicate well at all... got an message right after booking it, but didn't hear anything after that about how we checked in or got key for the door... texted and messaged the day of and had to wait to hear back,, almost 30 mins

Stayed here with family and two daughters I would not stay here again and will not recommend any family with kids to stay here. For your own safety and comfort find another place The so called two bedroom “apartment” is a very very old Cabin. The title says downtown Talkeetna. The only surroundings of this Cabin are other rundown sheds or cabins and a mud road. We did not feel safe here. Although it was very close to Talkeetna Air taxi which is why i booked it. The Cabin looked very old and needs a major update. I believe this cabin is probably a 100 years old based on what the host told us. The Wifi did not work. I was told that I may have to stand in the backyard to get the initial wifi connection! But it did not work. It was not a big deal for us, but if it does not work, don’t mislead. The bathroom did not have a door. The bed linen had brown stains. When we arrived the backdoor was unlocked, which we realized long after checking in. There was a strange smell and probably that happens with Cabins. When I tried to reach the host initially, they did not respond and I was sent straight to voicemail. After I reached the property I got a call from a family member who mentioned to me that she and many previous generations grew up in that cabin and was demonstrating how an old gramophone would play music. Even that bear’s skin is tearing apart and falling off! Check the pic. So, take this review seriously and stay away.
