The Abode of Bacchilide: a charming two-bedroom apartment in beautiful Syracuse

Bacchilide’s residence is a cozy and spacious apartment, elegantly furnished and completely renovated, located near the very central Corso Gelone. Located on the first floor, it is very bright and sunny and consists of an entryway/living room, a large bedroom, a kitchen/dining area, and a bathroom with a shower and washing machine. It can accommodate up to four people—two in the bedroom and two on the sofa bed. Designed to make guests feel right at home, it’s the ideal place to fully enjoy a relaxing vacation. Suitable for couples, friends, and/or singles. The living room features a flat-screen TV and a double sofa bed; the bedroom has a double bed complete with bedding; the bathroom has a shower; and the kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary appliances. Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire apartment. Guests will find everything they need for cooking, including an electric kettle, coffee maker, blender, microwave, toaster, pots, dishes, glasses, cups, towels, a hair dryer, an ironing board, an iron, air conditioning, and heating. If needed, a single bed with a mattress is available upon request.
For stays longer than 4 nights, you can request a cleaning service (for a fee) to be arranged with the host. The apartment is located in a prime spot in the city, at the heart of the major attractions; just a 10-minute walk from the historic center of Ortigia, a true gem nestled by the sea, and a 10-minute walk from the Neapolis Archaeological Park, home to ancient monuments such as the Greek Theater, the Ear of Dionysius, and the Latomie, among others. Just a stone’s throw away is the Church of Saint Lucy, patron saint of the city, along with the adjacent Piazza Santa Lucia—one of Syracuse’s most beautiful squares, where you can visit the charming antique and local produce market every Sunday. Just a few hundred meters away is the picturesque Porto Piccolo “Lakkios,” which in the summer hosts the Sbarcadero sunbathing area, where you can take a dip in the splendid waters off Syracuse.
About 200 meters away are the Basilica Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Lacrime and the Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum. Just a few minutes’ walk away, on Corso Gelone, you’ll find public transportation stops to reach the city’s tourist attractions and Catania’s Fontanarossa Airport. The train station is a 5-minute walk away.
